GRAVITY-FEED SOLENOID VALVES
Not all solenoid valves are suitable for gravity feed. Each one of our listings tells you whether that particular valve can be used for gravity feed. We have both plastic and brass bodied valves which can be used for gravity feed. Some of the typical gravity feed uses include draining auxiliary (truck bed) diesel fuel tanks to the truck’s main fuel tank or draining water tanks/containers at certain intervals for various reasons.
Traditional diaphragm valves (also known as pilot or servo operated valves) are not usually suitable for gravity feed because they require a minimum pressure for operation. Direct acting and semi-direct acting valves are often suitable for gravity feed since they can usually handle pressures down to zero psi. Again, please check each particular listing for details about the suitability of that valve for gravity feed. Please note that other sellers do not usually specify or guarantee their valves’ suitability for gravity feed.
