FAQ:

QUESTION: WHAT IS MONOFILAMENT?

Monafilament is the material on the top of the inside base of the wig that gives a natural looking skin top. Monofilament comes in either a single or double layer construction. With a monafilament top, you can change the parting of the style to suit.

QUESTION: WHAT DOES "READY TO WEAR" MEAN?

Ready to Wear means that the wigs have been pre-cut and styled by the designer of the wig. These pieces essentially do not need any cutting but it is possible to ask some professional advice or service to ensure each piece is styled for the individual.

QUESTION: HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY FIBRE WIG?

For best results, we usually recommend that before and after you wear the wig, spray the fibre hair lightly with some clean water, shake and brush it gently. If worn daily, wash every 10-14 days otherwise once a month is OK. NEVER use heat on fibre hair, and NEVER wash it in HOT water. Fibre hair wigs need to be replaced every 3-6 months depending on how often you wear it.

QUESTION: HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY HUMAN HAIR WIG?

For best results, wash your human hair wig in luke warm water with some normal conditioner. You can use heat on human hair such as hairdryers, ceramic straighteners etc. If you want to colour your human hair wig, better to consult some hair specialists for more advice beforehand. Human hair wigs need to be replaced about every 6 months.

QUESTION: WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE, HUMAN HAIR OR SYNTHETIC FIBRE?

Synthetic Fibre Hair:

Today's better quality synthetic wigs are virtually indistinguishable from human hair, except to the most practiced eye. Synthetic wigs are easier to care for and lower priced. The monofilament/Kanekalon fibre used to make synthetic wigs has "memory" which means it maintains its wave or curl, texture and volume, requiring minimal upkeep. Synthetic wigs, however, are not designed to accept a permanent wave or color change and can be permanently damaged by the use of curling irons, blow dryers or hot rollers.

Human Hair:

A human hair wig is the most natural looking option. It can be cut, styled, perm or coloured to suit your personal taste. Human hair wigs are more durable than synthetic wigs. However, human hair wigs are more expensive that synthetic wigs and require more care. They have to be shampooed, dried, styled and conditioned, just like your natural hair. And like your own natural hair, they can lose their style if they get wet and frizz on humid days.

QUESTION: HOW DO I PUT ON A WIG?

Wigs should be worn on the natural hairline (for most people it is about four-finger widths above the eyebrow).

Remove wig from the plastic bag or box. Gently remove the protective hair net from your wig. Spread a bit clean water on the wig and give it a few good shakes to separate the fibres and give some body to the hair. Some wigs need to be shaken to release the preset styling.

Brush your hair off your face at the top and sides. If your hair is too long, you may want use bobby pins to help keep it off your face, back at the sides, and up at the nape. Some people use a wig liner or wig cap to keep their existing hair in place.

Hold your wig at the sides with the woven label in back. Place it at your natural hairline and slide it on from front to back. Adjust the wig as needed so the front edge is just over your natural hairline. Use the ear tabs to center your wig from left to right. Adjust the hooks in the back if necessary for a more secure fit.

Tuck in any stray hairs at the front, sides and nape. And now, you're ready for styling!
