Terms and Conditions and Shop Information

This page provides payment, delivery and insurance and returns information for goods purchased from Science Fiction Collectables (sf-collectables). The information provided on this page forms the terms and conditions of sale. The buyer agrees to these terms and conditions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Payment Methods

UK: Paypal, cheque, postal order, bank draft are all acceptable.
International: Strictly Paypal only.

Paypal.
Paypal is the quickest payment method and is recommended for urgent purchases. Instant payments rather than e-cheques are recommended due to the time that e-cheques take to clear. Paypal is the only accepted payment method for international purchases.

Payment by Post.
Postal payment is not accepted on international purchases.
Within the UK, payment by cheque/bank draft/postal order is acceptable.
Items will only be dispatched after payment clears in full.
An uncrossed postal order will normally clear on the day it is received; other payments (including crossed postal orders) will normally take up to six working days to clear.
When sending payment by post, please take into consideration both the time for the payment to arrive and for the payment to clear.
In the unlikely event of a cheque being returned unpaid by the bank, the buyer is to pay the bank's fee, currently £4.00.

Currency.
Payment must be made in the currency stated in the listing.
All sf-collectables listings are currently in Pounds Sterling (Great British Pounds / GBP).

Delivery and Delivery Costs

Postage and packing costs (shipping costs) for all destinations are displayed in every listing, in the Payment Details section near the bottom of the listing.

Items will only be dispatched after payment clears in full.
Items are normally posted the next working day after payment clears.
Dispatch is not possible on Sunday due to Post Office closure; Saturday dispatch is at the discretion of sf-collectables.

UK.
Most items are sent by Royal Mail Second Class. Some items are sent by alternative Royal Mail services, appropriate to the size, weight and/or value of the item. The postal service used is stated in the Item Listing.
The buyer may request an alternative Royal Mail service to that stated in the listing (Signed For, Special Delivery, different Class etc.); the buyer must pay for this service in full. Where the total combined size, weight and/or value of multiple purchases makes the listed service(s) inappropriate, then the invoice will show the most appropriate service(s).
Tracking/reference numbers are only provided on recorded services.

International.
Standard international service is Royal Mail Air Mail. This is not a tracked service.
Buyers may pay for International Signed-for, which includes a tracking/reference number. This service currently costs the Air Mail price plus an extra £4.95 per package.

Insurance, Loss, Damage and Delay

Standard Royal Mail services include compensation cover up to the value of £41.
If the final purchase price is over £41, then sf-collectables recommends that the buyer purchase additional compensation cover. (Cost varies according to value.)
If the buyer chooses not to purchase additional cover, then sf-collectables is not responsible for any uninsured value. For Fixed Price listings with item price over £41, the postage and packaging cost normally includes additional cover.

sf-collectables cannot be held responsible for any items lost, damaged or delayed in the post. Any resulting claim should be directed towards Royal Mail or the appropriate other carrier.

Proof of postage is always obtained. Proof will be sent to the buyer if required.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Returns

The buyer may return an item within seven days of receipt.
Intention to return should be communicated to sf-collectables via eBay Messages before returning. Please do not return until confirmation is received from sf-collectables. Proof of postage must be retained.
If an item is returned due to a fault that was not stated in the listing, then the postage cost of return will be refunded to the buyer. Return for other reasons is at the buyer's expense.
Returns will not be accepted for items that have been damaged in the post. In such an event, a claim should be directed towards Royal Mail. (See Insurance, Loss, Damage and Delay above.)
Goods are expected to be returned in the condition they were received by the buyer.
Goods should be suitably packed for return.
For hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned.
Audio or video recordings or computer software that has been unsealed after receipt by the customer cannot be returned.
