| | | POLYESTER TIES!
Don't be afraid of manmade fabrics! Polyester ties are durable and can really spice up your wardrobe. They can be wild, giving you the look of a 70s police detective, or mild mannered. Also, some people don't want to wear animal products for personal or religious reasons and polyester, rayon, or acetate ties fit the bill perfectly. Try a Poly tie and get a conversation piece to wear when you're out.
| | SKINNY - NARROW - SLIM - THIN TIES!
Vintage ties in thin widths are a lot of fun. They can be found with all types of materials. Most do not have keeper loops on the back so the tie and tail move as you move and give you an active appearance. Also, if you collect antique tie bars or chains, narrow ties are perfect for showing off these pieces. Modern ties at 4" wide or more just can't accomodate a short clip or narrow chain. Try a slim tie for variety.
| | | ART DECO!
The necktie is a perfect venue for geometric Art Deco prints and weaves. The vertical format is great for symmetric designs but asymmetry works here also. Many vintage 1940s and 50s ties contain Deco styles and those are really conversation starters when you wear one. Even modern designers like Martin Wong and Albert Nipon are using Art Deco period styles as a basis for their designs.
