A Bit of History
Who would have thought that, when my mum and I started Party Animal back in the late 80's, to bake and decorate celebration cakes and teach Cake decoration, that we would be the company we are today and
have the whole family involved!
We started out in the back warehouse of Roger's kitchen design business but quickly found that the cakes and courses were proving very popular and there was a large demand for both the cake specialist equipment
and also for party stuff - nowhere near as available then as now! Roger quickly changed from Kitchen designer to balloon designer - the party side was never a problem, we just believed in plenty of practice!
Soon Party Animal had grown to take over the whole premises and it has gone from strength to strength.
The party store in St. Annes and Partyanimalonline shop are now sister companies and our warehouse and offices for online and ebay sales can be found in Blackpool but we still keep it very much in the family!
Although over the years we have seen various changes our prime concern has always been for excellence in customer service - we never forget that without our loyal customers we would not be in business.
We believe in a corner shop mentality where we know our customers rather than being a faceless corporate entity with an 'us and them' attitude. I hope that we achieve that on the internet as well as in store!
Get in Touch
We are not perfect but we do listen! If we make mistakes and we are told we will try to correct them and learn from them. For this reason we do have a
and a Twitter site, where we encourage you to tell us what you like, what you don't, and where you would like us to go next! Our most recent site is at
Google+ where our 'Cake Decorating and Sugarcraft supplies and support'
community is beginning to grow. You can also finds lots of help and advice, photos and tips from our many fans on each site.
Of course we will always answer messages on Ebay! We are there during office hours, Monday to Friday, and try to answer all messages as quickly as possible. If you are desperate for an answer during these times
you can always get us on Twitter where we are frequently on live. Or email us!
You can also find us on the internet at our website where we have help and advice and our tuition and recipe pages
which we try to add to all the time.
We have the experience to know that not all people want the same from cake decoration equipment. With that in mind we try to offer a range that covers the one-off home decorator as well as the professional cake decorator.
If you want advice on which items to choose we are always happy and willing to give advice and point you the way that is right for YOU.
Who we Are
As a qualified cake decorator (triple distinction at City and Guilds) and Home Economist (BSc hons) as well as a qualified and experienced adult education teacher, teaching both vocational (City and Guilds and CENTRA) and
just for fun evening classes at Party Animal and the local colleges, I reckon that Sally (that's me!) knows a bit about most aspects of cake decorating and baking!
All three kids: Steph, Ant and Danny; have all at one time
or another done cake decorating courses, worked in the retail shop and have learned from a very young age how to decorate cakes and make sugar flowers and modelled figures - not to mention the value of a good party!
- and now all three are putting these skills plus their own personal skills brought from other jobs and experiences back into Party Animal - Steph in a full time capacity running the offices and customer services - and Ant and Danny giving up many free
hours to consult on products, IT and help out when we need them (the dreaded word stocktaking always raises its head at this point!).
Roger, of course, is THE FACE of Party Animal! Everyone knows him when they visit our store!
And what he doesn't know about the stock and products probably isn't worth knowing!
Along with a small dedicated team in the shop and warehouse we make up Party Animal as it is now.
