Your Feedback is important and here is why!

I leave positive feedback for every buyer with the following information after each mailing session so that you will know how long it took to get your item in the mail and how much it cost you. This is information that you will need should you choose to leave feedback for me, which I would really appreciate.

1. Date purchased.
2. Shipping costs.
3. Date Shipped.
4. Insurance information if applicable.

I believe in a 5 star policy of good business and good service. It is as simple as that!

We are rated in 4 catagories. Here is what I do to assure that your satisfaction is achieved and I am deserving of the highest rating possible. Higher ratings for me and or other sellers will assure buyers that we will continue to offer competitive pricing and continue selling on EBay. Your Feedback is important. These are the catagories that you have to evaluate a sellers performance and here is what I do.

  • Product Description...I provide up to 12 photos on most all items listed. I also give a measured description of item dimensions in milimeters and inches. I also weigh each item in ounces and grams. I will give a text summary of the item and it's attributes. If there are any imperfections it will also be pointed out.

  • Communications...When you contact me with questions, it is most offen answered within 1 to 6 hours. After your purchase it is followed up with a thank you note. After your item is mailed you are notified and given a tracking number. If there is a need for more information you are contacted by e-mail and then after the sale you may be contacted for follow-up. I never contact you for feedback. I have over double the sales of the counted feedback because many buyers do not leave feedback.

  • Shipping time....This one is difficult because foreigh buyers do not seem to understand that once it leaves my location I have absolutely no control over the timing. If you have a tracking number within 12-48 hours that is your indication of the real shipping time....not what the post office does once it leaves here. Again I have zero control over the post office or customs offices.

  • Shipping and handling costs....Whenever possible I provide free shipping. If the item is a higher value item and packaging takes more time and is more involved I will make a small charge for shipping. I try as best as I can to keep all fees as low as I can. Many times I do not even break even on shipping and I do not charge for the handling time.

Ebay has left it up to us as sellers to provide buyers with the education necessary to leave the appropriate ratings. Here is a copy of how Ebay evaluates sellers on the 5 star rating system. I have copied and pasted EBay's wording.

PowerSeller fee discounts - For listings started on or after February 20, 2008 (applied to the April 2008 invoice), as a reward for excellent customer service, PowerSellers with high detailed seller ratings (DSRs) over the past 30 days will receive discounts on Final Value Fees for their prior month's sales.

PowerSeller fee discounts

PowerSellers in the United States or Canada will start getting Final Value Fees discounts on April 2008, based on their detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for the last 30 days. Discounts will apply to listings started on or after February 20, 2008.

PowerSeller fee discounts are our way of recognizing and rewarding sellers who consistently provide excellent customer service on eBay. Because detailed seller ratings (DSRs) enable buyers to rate specific aspects of their transactions - item as described, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges - these ratings provide the best measure of customer satisfaction and the best way for eBay to identify good sellers. Your DSRs also give you a complete picture of how customers rate your performance and what you can do to improve.

Requirements to qualify

You qualify for the PowerSeller fee discounts if you:

  • Are a member of the United States or Canadian PowerSeller program, and
  • Have maintained excellent detailed seller ratings (DSRs) over the last 30 days in all four areas - item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges. All four of your DSRs must be equal to or greater than than 4.6, 4.8 or 4.9 for increasingly deeper discounts.

How it works

  • If you are a PowerSeller and all four of your detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for the past 30 day period are 4.6 or higher, you qualify for a 5% discount on Final Value Fees

  • If you are a PowerSeller and all four of your detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for the past 30 day period are 4.8 or higher, you qualify for a 15% discount on Final Value Fees

  • If you are a PowerSeller and all four of your detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for the past 30 day period are 4.9 or higher, you qualify for a 20% discount on Final Value Fees (the 20% discount will begin to show on your July, 2008 invoice).

  • EXTENDED THROUGH JUNE! For items sold between October 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009 PowerSellers with high DSRs that qualify for Final Value Fee discounts will get double the discounts on their items sold with free shipping.

FEEDBACK AND IT'S RAMIFICATIONS.

The Internet Merchants Association (IMA) has announced the establishment of a new website.

www.leavingfeedback.com

This website is designed to provide ebay buyers with an accurate description and explanation of the changes to the feedback and DSR system, so that they are appropriately educated prior to leaving a seller feedback.

The site was specifically designed to be non-judgmental, and non-political, stating only the facts about how the feedback system works, and the impact that it has on sellers. The IMA is recommending that sellers include the website URL on all communications with buyers, including emails, packing slips and invoices. Steven Grossberg, President of IMA stated "eBay has not done a good job of informing buyers of the impact of leaving DSRs. The negative impact of buyers leaving 4's for a seller can be significant, even though the ebay site makes it look like a 4 is a pretty good rating. We felt that this was an important message to deliver to ebay buyers. We're simply doing the job that ebay should have done, but didn't."
