TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF OUR 12 MONTH GUARANTEE
This guarantee provides a 12 month warranty against mechanical failure (excluding mainsprings) of the clock specified on the guarantee certificate subject to the following terms and conditions.
This warranty covers repair in the event of failure of the clock providing
- Failure is due to mechanical defect resulting from wear and tear under normal and proper use
- The clock has not been subject to misuse of any nature including over winding, neglect or malicious or non malicious tampering of any nature.
- The clock has not failed due to accidental damage, such as falling or being moved from one location to another without proper care being taken, i.e pendulum left attached.(this is often resultant in damage to the suspension feather and pendulum clocks should never be lifted whilst pendulum bob is still attached).
What this warranty does not cover
- All clocks sold by us are antique or collectable and may occasionally develop minor defects due to age or repairs carried out previously or even present in initial manufacture i.e Defects of a minor nature that are present due to age and general wear that do not interfere with the general usage of the clock . Such an example would be the need to wind a little more often than the original specification.
- Very few manufacturers warranted mainsprings when clocks were new, as such we do not cover mainspring breakage, though will wherever possible effect repair at cost of parts only.
- All clocks were manufactured to suit different budgets and to different specifications, 100 years ago time was not as important to many people and some clocks may lose or gain time regardless of how well regulated they are.
( regulation of timekeeping is the responsibility of the customer and is easily achieved by raising or lowering the pendulum)
Postage
- In the event of repair being required under this guarantee, postage costs to and from Highams Clocks are at the customers expense. Payment for return postage will be required before the clock is returned to you.
- We reserve the right, where repair is either impossible or uneconomic due to limited or non availability of parts to accept the clock back and issue a credit to the customer against any other item we have for sale. This credit will be for the full purchase price of the guaranteed clock.
THIS GUARANTEE IS NON TRANSFERABLE AND IS AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PURCHASER AND HIGHAMS CLOCKS.
