This pretty pastel stretch bracelet is quick to make and will be much admired.

A simple design made in glass crackle beads and Tibetan silver daisy beads on a strong stretchy thread. A matching beaded hairpin completes the set – ideal for bridesmaids.

No special tools or pliers are needed so this is the perfect project for beginners.

Cost: Less than £10 for materials which will make at least 3 sets and give you beads and thread left over for more crafting projects

Suitable for: Beginning crafters. Children 8+ with adult assistance

Materials: • 27x 6mm round crackle glass beads in your choice of colour. I used 9 each of champagne beige, spring green and aqua blue • 8x 6mm Tibetan silver flat daisy beads • 1x 5mm silver tone split ring • 1 x Tibetan silver ‘made with love’ heart dangle • 1 x silver plated hair pin with 5 loops • 1 roll magic stretch elastic• 1 roll nylon beading thread • 1 clothes peg or bulldog clip (optional) • 1 bottle of super glue • Scissors or thread snipsNeedle (optional but handy!)

Bracelet instructions

·         Cut off enough magic stretch elastic to go round your wrist at a comfortable tension – plus  4 cm extra

·         Clip one end with your peg to stop the beads rolling off.

·         Thread on one of each colour glass crackle bead, followed by one daisy bead

·         Repeat this pattern twice

·         Thread on 1 glass crackle beads

·         Thread the ‘made with love’ dangle onto the 5mm split ring

·         Thread the split ring onto your string and then thread on the second and third glass crackle bead and the daisy bead to continue your pattern.

·

Once the pattern has repeated 7 times, carefully wrap the bracelet around your wrist to check the fit

·         Thread on another pattern set if necessary and check the fit again

·         Tie a square knot in the elastic and secure with a dot of superglue

·         Trim the loose ends down to 5mm and then tuck the ends inside the bead holes to hide them!

Hair Pin Instructions

·         Cut off around 20cm of nylon bead thread. Tie one end to the left hand loop of the hair pin in a square knot. Dot the knot with super glue to secure. Leave to dry.

·         Once dry, thread on one bead. Hold the bead in position and firmly wrap the nylon line around the base of the bead and the loop. When you’re happy with the position of the bead, wrap the nylon line around the 2nd loop and then thread on your next glass bead.

·         Repeat with the other 4 glass beads and the Tibetan silver bead, keeping as much tension as possible on the nylon line. The beads should be quite still.

·

When you are happy with the position of the beads, pass the nylon thread through to the back of the pin and wrap it around to secure. Cut any excess away, leaving around 8 cm of nylon.

·         Thread on a needle and use this to tie a square knot at the back of the pin. Secure the knot with a dot of super glue.
