* My car is not listed - how can I determine compatibility?
If your car model is not in the compatibility list but you still think it might be compatible please contact us via eBay or web form at carputer-shop.co.uk
You can also email us the picture of your car stereo ( front and back) to support at carputer-shop.co.uk and write your compatibility question in an email.
You can also see if you have the correct connector on the rear of your stereo by comparing this to our Compatibility Chart

* What does the non-DSP means on the BMW stereos?
DSP stands for “Digital Sound Processing”, it is usually written on the stereo facia or in the car stereo manual. Your BMW stereo should be non-DSP for GROM adapters to work.

* What does the single DIN and double DIN mean for Audi Seat Skoda and VW stereos?
DIN is an acronym for Deutsches Institut fur Normung, i.e. German Institute for Standardization. In this particular case, it is used for specification of different standards of car stereos used in VW/ Audi / SEAT/ BMW and other European cars. If your car stereo is about 2 inches / 5 cm height, then it should be considered as Single-DIN. If it is about 4 inches / 11 cm height, your car stereo is Double DIN.

Installation

* Do I need to remove or replace my existing car stereo?
You will keep your existing car stereo. In order to install the adapter you will need to reach to the back of the car stereo where the CD changer port is located. To do so you might need to take the stereo out. However in some cars you can reach behind the car stereo from the passenger side to plug the adapter in.

* Do I need to seek for the help of the professional?
It depends on your ability and skills. Some installations are easy and some require more work to be done.

* Are there any special tools required?
In most cases there are no any special tools required except regular screwdriver. Some (such as AUDI, VW, SKODA) require VW car stereo removal tools.

* Do you provide the instructions on how to remove the car stereo?
We provide general guidelines in GROM USER Manuals It is nearly impossible to cover all existing car models. There are some very good websites out there detailing the process for most cars, do a search for "fit audio"

* Where do I put my iPod, USB stick or MP3 player once the adapter is installed?
It is safer to place the iPod, Mp3 player or USB mass storage device out of the sight. We recommend the glove box or arm rest for that purpose.
For some installations the connected device is left in the trunk of the car ( where trunk installation is available).
