What is "Grade 2"?
"Grade 2" is similar but not identical to refurbished.
PC Interworks/buyit247 is currently the only company in the U.K. officially
appointed by Fujtisu Siemens Computers to test, repair or replace components
in returned Fujitsu Siemens Computers and then re-market their products as 'Grade
2'.
Why do computers get returned?
Well, for many different reasons but the main one is from the "DOA"
process. Dead on Arrival, means that when a brand new computer arrives with
a customer and they take it out of the box, the computer will not work. It may
be that it just won't turn on, the hard drive doesn't work, the CD won't eject,
or simply that the operating system crashes. Whatever the reason, when a machine
is diagnosed as DOA Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers a policy of exchanging
these machines for a brand new machine. Fujitsu Siemens then takes these machines
back from the customers and sends them to PC Interworks LTD/buyit247
PC Interworks LTD/buyit247 then spends a lot of time testing
and correcting the system so that when the customer purchases the Grade2 system
it will work faultlessly from day one, and continue to do so for a very long
time! Many customers prefer to buy Grade2, because apart from the cost saving,
the machine has undergone several hours, or in some cases days, of "soak"
testing to ensure it all works properly.
It must however be noted, that because the machine has done
a lot of travelling along the way, i.e. from Fujitsu Siemens to the customer,
customer to Fujitsu Siemens, Fujitsu Siemens to PC Interworks LTD/buyit247,
the boxes may sometimes show signs of "wear and tear". Due to the
nature of Grade 2 product it is possible that they may display upto 3 superficial
markings on the item. Items with more than 3 superficial markings or a dent
of any sort are considered 'Cosmetically Damaged Grade2' and are labelled on
our Grade2 pricelist with the prefix 'CD' in the desciption line. Cosmetically
damaged Grade 2 machines are NOT offered for sale on the online shop.

Paper manuals may be missing but CD's containing online documentation
and drivers will be included. No additional software (e.g. Worksuite and games)
other than the Windows operating system is guaranteed to be included.
All Grade 2 Laptops come with 6 month collect and return warranty.
All Grade 2 PC's come with 6 months on-site warranty.
All Grade 2 Monitors come with 6 months swap out warranty.
