Payment Terms, Stock Information & PayPal Help
PAYMENT TERMS:
Payment must be sent within 3 days of winning an auction, or committing to buy a fixed price item (clicking 'Buy It Now'). This is especially important to secure popular items where stock may be limited (see further down the page). If the item you would like to buy is listed in a currency other than your own and you are unsure how PayPal currency conversion works, see Currency Conversion Explained for information.
Payment via Paypal is preferred and for overseas buyers, this is the only accepted payment method. However for auctions only, I also accept postal orders from UK buyers as long as contact is made within 24 hours of winning, to advise which day your postal order will be sent. Postal orders must be sent uncrossed and by recorded delivery within 3 days of the auction ending.
Most PayPal payments are instant but occassionly Paypal will send an echeque on your behalf instead. An echeque takes time to clear (commonly 7-9 days), just like a paper cheque. I can only dispatch your item after the echeque clears, as I do not receive the funds into my Paypal account until this happens. Please be assured that the stock of your item(s) are guaranteed during this time and I will let you know as soon as your echeque clears.
If you don't already have a Paypal account, it is quick to set up and very secure. At the bottom of the page I have compiled some information from PayPal's help pages, which provides answers to some common questions. Worth highlighting, is that you do not have to have funds in your PayPal account, or need to wait until bank funding is set up before you can send a payment - as long as you have a valid credit or debit card attached to your PayPal account you can send instant payments straight away (doing this will also avoid your payment being sent as an echeque).
STOCK INFORMATION:
All items listed are in stock and if you win an auction or click to buy from one of my fixed price listings, I guarantee that your item will be taken out of stock for 3 days from the date of sale while awaiting your payment.
Your payment must be received within these 3 days to secure your item. If you want to secure an item while I have it in stock but need more than 3 days to send your payment, please ask if this is possible prior to bidding or buying and I will try to accomodate. If you have already clicked to buy and then find for some reason you are unable to pay within this time frame, please contact me as soon as possible after buying and I will try and help if I can.
UNPAID ITEMS:
If I have not received payment or contact from you within 3 days, your item will be placed back into stock and a payment reminder will be sent. For payments received after 3 days, your item will be sent as normal if it is still in stock. If your item has gone out of stock I will advise you when new stock is expected.
If payment is still outstanding after 7 days and you have not replied to the payment reminder, an unpaid item dispute will be filed with eBay. This is not something I like to do as I am aware that eBay class unpaid items as a high policy breach and that account restrictions can occur as a result. However, this is always avoidable just by contacting me - if I am aware that you just need a bit longer to pay, for example, I will always help out by extending the payment date if I can.
USEFUL BUYER INFORMATION TAKEN FROM PAYPAL'S HELP PAGES:
Anyone with an email address can use PayPal to send and receive money online. You can sign up for free and it only takes minutes to register (just look for the PayPal links on eBay, or visit www.paypal.co.uk (or www.paypal.com for buyers outside the UK). You can use your bank account to fund your PayPal payments, or if you have a debit or credit card that you prefer to pay with, then you can also attach these to your PayPal account.
You will need to add at least one funding source to your PayPal account in order to make payments with PayPal. To add funding sources, log into Paypal, select 'Edit Profile' then select either 'Add or Remove Bank Account' or 'Add or Remove Card'. Please note that you do not have to wait until bank funding is set up before sending a payment if you have attached a valid debit or credit card to your PayPal account.
How do I link my eBay and PayPal accounts?
Linking your PayPal account adds your PayPal addresses to your eBay address book.
To link your eBay account to your PayPal account, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your eBay account
2. Click "My eBay" at the top of most eBay pages
3. Under the "Account" section, click the "PayPal Account" link.
4. Click the "Link My PayPal Account" button. You will be asked to log in to PayPal to finish linking your accounts
To add your eBay User ID to your PayPal account just follow these steps:
1. Log in to your PayPal account
2. Click "Profile" at the top of the page
3. Click the "Auctions" link under "Selling Preference"
4. Click "Add"
5. Enter your eBay User ID and password. (This is different from your PayPal username and password)
6. Click "Add"
How can I use the money in my PayPal balance?
If you have funds in your PayPal balance, they will automatically be used for your next PayPal payment (unless you specify otherwise). If more funds are needed for a payment then they will be deducted from your bank account, or from the credit or debit card you have attached to your PayPal account. So if, for example you have £10 in your PayPal balance and you then go to make a PayPal payment of £25, then the £10 from your PayPal balance will be used and the remaining £15 will be taken from your bank account.
What does it mean to get "Verified"?
Becoming "Verified" is necessary to remove limits on sending money from your PayPal account. In addition, because other users will know that you have confirmed your identity with PayPal, it can help to increase trust and confidence - particularly between buyers and sellers.
Your PayPal account will show as "Verified" when you have confirmed your identity with us by successfully completing a few simple steps. If your PayPal account is showing as "Unverified", then you have yet to complete the Verification process. To achieve a higher level of security, we encourage all PayPal users to confirm their identity and obtain "Verified" status for their accounts.
To verify your PayPal account, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk or www.paypal.com
2. Click the "Unverified" link on the Account Overview page
3. The steps required to verify your account will appear in the table
How do I set up bank funding?
To Set up Bank Funding you must add your bank account to your PayPal account. We will then deposit two small amounts into your bank account, which you will need to find on your bank statement. You will then need to log into PayPal and enter the amounts correctly to confirm ownership of your bank account. Please note that you do not have to wait until bank funding is set up before sending a payment if you have attached a valid debit or credit card to your PayPal account.
