HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF FOR THE CORRECT FITTING BRA

WHY SHOULD I DO THIS? 

Over 70% of us are wearing the wrong size bra

Your bra fit, comfort and shape needs the right bra size, design and construction to give your bust support, shape and fit.

• The correct band size is the smallest you can comfortably wear needing to be tight enough to be fairly supportive without weighing down on the straps
• You should beable to run your finger around the inside of the band but not much more
• It should worn on the biggest adjustment (but will be probably be too tight if you try to fasten it on the smallest size) bras are designed to fit like this to leave room for the bra to stretch after it has been worn a few times
• If the band is painfully tight (even on the biggest adjustment) then go up a band size and down a cup size to compensate eg if a 32D is too tight try a 34C and like wise in reverse if the band is too loose even on the tighest adjustment, try a smaller band eg if a 32D is too loose try a 30D
• Check your cup size! the correct fit is the biggest you can completely fill out (you should fill out the cups but not bulge out anywhere)

I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THAT YOU ARE CORRECTLY MEASURED BY A PROFESSIONAL LINGERIE DEPT

However these next steps would help obtain your sizing if required 

FOR YOUR BAND SIZE ...... Run a tape measure all the way around your body just underneath your breasts (as in diagram A) in inches.  Make sure the tape measure is horizontal and fairly snug.  Your arms should be down.  Round to the closet whole inch (eg if you measure 30 3/8", round to 30 - if 30 1/2", round to 31)

• If the rounded measurement is an even number then add 4 inches
• If the rounded measurement is an odd number then add 5 inches

For example if you measured 31 inches (your band size would be 36) if you measured 33 1/2 inches (your band size would be 38)

FOR YOUR CUP SIZE (BUST) ...... measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust (as in diagram B) in inches (not too tightly or the measurement will be incorrect) If you dont have a good fitting bra which is poorly fitting - bend over so your back is parallel to the floor and measure around your chest, over your nipples (again round this number up to the nearest whole number)

CALCULATE YOUR CUP ...... subtract than band size measurement from the bust measurement and using the following chart determine your cup size (remember this is a guide line only if in any doubt please visit your local lingerie Dept)

• LESS THAN 1 inch = AA cup
• 1 inch = A cup
• 2 inches = B cup
• 3 inches = C cup
• 4 inches = D cup
• 5 inches = DD cup
• 6 inches = E cup
• 7 inches = F cup
• 8 inches = FF cup
• 9 inches = G cup
