Maria Tinoco est née à Lisbonne. Cours de l'école d'Art António Arroio et Faculté des Beaux Arts de Lisbonne. Élève du grand peintre Júlio Pomar et aussi du céramiste Querubim Lapa qui l'ont proposé aprés le cours à l'exposition de la Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lisbonne, récompense dédiée aux artistes promisseurs.
