How do I purchase multiple items?
It's all explained in eBay's Help Pages at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/combined_payments_faq.html, but basically the way to purchase multiple items is to simply browse my store and use
the Buy it Now button on each item you wish to purchase. Don't pay
for each item individually, as that will make it impossible to combine your purchases and give you a reduced postage cost. When you've finished, you can either ask for a combined total, or you can wait until I send you an invoice for the total owing, so that you can take advantage of the reduced shipping charges for multiple items. Do remember though that
pressing the Buy it Now button commits you to pay for all the items that you've
purchased!
Do you combine purchases?
Yes, I always combine purchases to give you the cheapest possible rates. As most
of the items I sell are quite small, I can generally get quite a few of them into
a standard sized padded envelope which will keep the shipping costs down. Generally
speaking, the more items you purchase, you more you save on postage.
You sent me a Discount Voucher, how
does that work?
The voucher contains a unique
number - to claim your discount after your next purchase, simply use
my payment form to enter the voucher number into the space provided, then your
10% discount will automatically be applied and you will be able to make your discounted
payment. The payment form supports secure payment by debit & credit card,
Paypal and Nochex. Full details are on the Voucher.
What do you charge for shipping to my country?
The cost of shipping is in every listing, usually about halfway down the description.
I always include the rates for 2nd class postage to the United Kingdom, Airmail
to Europe, and Airmail to the rest of the world (which includes the United States).
On particularly heavy items, I will also include the cost for international Surface
Mail which although cheaper, can be incredibly slow.
How do you calculate your postage rates?
All items will have been weighed with their packaging, and from that I will have
calculated the actual cost of postage, i.e. "The Stamp". I then need
to charge for the packaging, which is normally a padded envelope. On top of that,
I will charge a very small handling fee which is usually only a few pennies. Everything
I sell is securely and neatly packed, with sturdy cardboard in the packaging for
strength where necessary, so I believe my shipping rates represent excellent value.
I've won one of your auctions, what happens next?
If you know the total including postage, and you intend paying with Paypal, you
can pay right away without waiting for my invoice. If you aren't sure of the total,
or you want to pay with any of my other accepted payment methods, then you can
wait for the invoice which I will send as soon as possible after the sale. Whichever
payment method you use, I will send an email to acknowledge your payment, and
I will also send another email when your package has been despatched, so you'll
know when to expect it. I always keep buyers fully informed all the way through
the transaction - I value all my customers and will see each and every purchase
through to a happy conclusion.
Why is eBay asking me to pay with Paypal, can I pay
any other way?
Paypal is integrated with eBay, so naturally that's how you will be asked to pay.
However, I accept many other forms of payment, all of which are shown on every
listing. If you aren't sure how to pay with any of my other accepted payment methods,
just wait until I send you an invoice as that will explain everything! When making
a payment, do remember that I sell many hundreds of similar items on eBay, so
you'll need to enclose your details. Just saying that the payment is for "the
magnet" or "the postcard", or even worse "my ebay purchase"
doesn't really help me to work out who you are or what you're paying for. Any
payments that arrive with no clue as to who they are from will be considered a
gift!
I made a purchase or won an auction, but I haven't
heard from you?
I always - without fail - send an invoice to the winning buyer as soon as I can
after an auction finishes, or after an item is purchased. That will usually be
within 12 hours, but it's often sooner. If by any chance you haven't heard from
me within 24 hours, please please please check your junk mail folder as some ISPs
are a little too efficient at filtering mail. Hotmail and AOL are particularly
bad at this, but other ISPs are often just as bad.
Why did you send me a payment reminder?
My terms of sale ask that you acknowledge your purchase or winning bid within
3 days of the sale, and that I receive your payment within 10 days. If I haven't heard from you by the 4th day after the sale, I'll send you a gentle reminder just in case you
didn't receive my first invoice. If I still haven't heard from you after another
3 days (7 days after the sale) then I'll start the eBay non paying bidder process.
I'm very patient, and I'm always willing to wait for payment as long as you keep
in touch. Please don't ignore me, as I'm not a mind reader and I really don't
know what's going on if you don't contact me. It's actually quite amazing the
number of buyers who haven't contacted me or been able to pay for their purchases,
because the instant they've bought one or more of my items they have immediately
been rushed to hospital / a close relative has died / they've been called away
on business / their computer crashed or had a virus. Or even that their child/cat/dog
bid (yes, really!). I'm pretty sure I've already heard most of the excuses for
non-payment, so please just keep in touch and you'll find I'm really very patient
and helpful.
When will I receive my purchase?
I promise on every listing that I'll post your winning item on the same or next
business day after I receive your cleared payment. And I stick to that promise!
Some sellers say they post within 7 days, others are generally vague as to when
they post out their items. Me? Well, I like to get everything into the post as
soon as possible and that means posting every day, Monday to Friday. After that, it's up to the Post Office - generally items to the United
Kingdom will arrive in 1 - 4 working days, to Europe in about 7 working days,
and to the rest of the world (including the United States) in about 7 - 14 working
days. These are only approximate estimates, sometimes post can take a little longer,
and sometimes it can be much faster. If you're at all concerned that your item
hasn't arrived within a reasonable time, just drop me a quick email!
What happens if I don't like what I've purchased?
I always describe everything I sell accurately and honestly and provide good clear
pictures - there's no point in my describing something incorrectly as that's just
plain silly. However, if you really don't like what you've bought, or it's not
what you expected, then please do email me to let me know! If you've simply changed
your mind and decide you don't want it you will be able to return the item to
me. I will refund your purchase price only when the item is returned to me in
the same condition as I sent it to you - in this case I will not be able to refund
any postage costs. If however the item arrived damaged, or you feel that I've
misdescribed the item, then I will refund in full including your postage costs.
In all cases though, you MUST email me first BEFORE returning the unwanted item so that we can come to a suitable
arrangement that will benefit both of us.
What happens if my item doesn't arrive or is damaged
in the post?
The first thing to do is to email me so that I'm aware of the problem! I accept
full responsibility for getting your purchases to you in a satisfactory condition,
and I will do all I can to make sure that happens. Leaving me negative or neutral
feedback isn't the way to get any problem resolved, and you can rest assured that
problems will be dealt with promptly and politely as long as I'm made aware of
them by email.
What is your feedback policy?
I always leave feedback at the end of the transaction, which is when the buyer has indicated that they have received their purchase and that they're happy with the transaction. Positive feedback will be left automatically for every positive feedback that
I receive. For busy sellers who work alone (like me!), this is by far the most
efficient way to make sure that feedback is left for every buyer. If you let me
know by email that you're happy with the transaction instead of leaving feedback,
that's fine, but it may take me a while to catch up so please do be patient! Leaving
me neutral or negative feedback doesn't mean I will automatically leave the same
for you. An example where I may simply respond with a negative would be if you
leave me a neutral or negative without first contacting me and giving me the chance to resolve your problem, as I would consider this to
be poor communication. I will always though, without exception, leave negative
feedback for non payers.
