Verzazio.com Jewelers Blood Diamond / Conflict Diamond Policy

Verzazio has a zero-tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds, often called today as Blood Diamonds.  All Verzazio.com jewelers diamonds are warrantied to be conflict free. We only work with the most highly reputable and well-established diamond faceters who strictly follow the guidelines of the Kimberley Process.

What is The Kimberley Process?

2000 several South African diamond-producing states met in Kimberley, South Africa to discuss ways to stop the conflict diamonds trade. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a landmark resolution in December 2000, which supported the creation of an international certification scheme to track the movement of rough diamonds. The creation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in November 2002 resulted from negotiations between governments, the international diamond industry and civil society organizations. The KPCS document established the guidelines for controlling rough diamond production and trade. In 2003, countries began to implement its rules.

How Does It Work?

The Kimberley Process imposes strict requirements on its members to enable them to certify shipments of rough diamonds as conflict-free. Participating states must put in place national legislation and institutions; export, import and internal controls; and also commit to transparency and the exchange of statistical information. Participants can only do business with other trade members who meet the minimum requirements, and a Kimberley Process certificate is included all international shipments of rough diamonds.  Verzazio works only with the most highly reputable and well-established diamond faceters who strictly follow the guidelines of the Kimberley Process.
