Trade IT Terms & Conditions of Sale

  1. When you purchase an item or win one of our auctions, we expect payment within 5 working days. We provide many payment options and we want to ship your goods as soon as possible; the quicker you pay, the quicker you will receive your goods. Please don't bid if you do not intend to purchase!
  2. You will be notified by email when your payment has been received and when your item has shipped.
  3. When you have received your goods, please inspect them for any damage during transit. Any damaged or faulty goods should be notified to us within 48hrs. If a package has clearly been damaged in transit - do not sign for the goods or clearly mark 'Package Damaged' on the drivers consignment sheet.

Payment

  1. We accept a number of payment methods, but we prefer Paypal – this is quick and convenient for you and us. As Paypal is owned by eBay, Paypal payments integrate directly with the eBay selling software; this means your goods are immediately ready for shipping. (Note that eCheque payments through Paypal can take up to 10 days to clear).
  2. Our Paypal account will accept credit/debit card payments, but if you prefer not to use Paypal we can process credit card payments at the office.  
  3. We do not recommend sending cash in the post; if you do, please use an insured service.
  4. You can pay for any item with UK Postal Orders
  5. In common with many retailers, we no longer accept cheque payments as it is simply uneconomic to do so.
  6. If you pay by postal order, please include reference to the item number and your eBay id so we can identify your order!
  7. Items which haven't been paid for within 7 days will be relisted and processed through the eBay Unpaid Item procedure.

Post & Packing

  • Our P&P charges are some of the lowest on eBay. Bear in mind that this cost includes any postage/shipping charges and handling and packaging costs.
  • We offer a number of shipping options with each sale; please use the checkout option to indicate your preferred method of shipping. We ship every day except weekends and public holidays. If you need an item urgently, please select an express shipping service - Courier or Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  • The quicker you pay, the quicker we can ship your goods.
  • Where our tracked courier service is used we can replace missing/damaged items within 3-5 days. For items shipped by Royal Mail services, 15 working days are required before missing items can be tracked or claimed for. This includes recorded delivery items.
  • Note that overseas shipping services can be delayed by customs; airmail services to some destinations can take up to six weeks or longer.
  • Where a 'Get it Fast' option is chosen for larger items your package will ship with a next working day courier service - normally Citylink or DHL.
  • Please provide a shipping address (e.g. a work address) where someone will be in to accept the goods. We cannot change a delivery address after an item has been shipped. You will be liable for charges we incur from couriers and other mail providers where items are returned to us as undeliverable and uncollected.

Consumer Protection
 

Our business is subject to all the relevant EU consumer regulations including the Sale of Goods Act, the Trade Descriptions Act, the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations and the Data Protection Act. Full details of all these are readily available at the DTI website http://www.dti.gov.uk/ , but here is our brief summary of what is covered:-

 

Sale of Goods Act – Goods must be fit for their purpose and of satisfactory quality.

Trade Descriptions Act – Products must be as described.

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations – We must provide you with information about our organisation, the product you are purchasing, written confirmation of your order and you have a 7 day period in which you can cancel the order. The procedure for cancellation is as follows:

  • Notify us in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods of your intention to return them. Please include your item number and eBay user id so we can identify your order.
  • The goods must be returned in their original packaging, unused with all seals intact, in new condition and suitable for resale
  • Goods that are not in a new, unopened condition may be refunded at our discretion, but will be subject to a restocking fee (currently 20% of sale price or £5.00 per item, whichever is greater).
  • You must pay the carriage cost of returning the goods; a tracked and insured delivery service should be used for all items with a value of £25 or more.
  • The goods must be returned within 30 days of receipt.
  • We will refund your original purchase price less our P&P costs and eBay/Paypal selling fees. We may also withold card payment or cheque processing fees or other charges and expenses which we have incurred in respect of the sale.

Data Protection Act – we do not store any personal details of eBay customers on our computers. If you add us to your favourite sellers list you will be added to our newsletter subscription list. If you do not wish to receive occasional emails from us, please let us know, or simply remove us from your favourite seller list. Your email address and other details will never be passed to any third parties.
