Chilli Pepper Growing Guide-

Sow last week of February to ensure crops from late July through to October

Soak seeds in room temperature water for 24hrs before sowing. This will soften the seedcase and help germination.

Sow seeds onto moist compost that has been blended with perlite, or vermiculite, to create a nice airy compost. Cover the seeds with just a gentle dusting of compost, about 2mm deep is enough.

Provide warmth for your chillies. They need an environment of between 75 to 90 Fahrenheit to germinate. An airing cupboard is fine, but remember to give them light once germinated

Chile germination can be quite erratic, sometimes as much as 6 weeks before the first and last seed will germinate, so don’t throw your pot away thinking they may have died.

Once your plants have 2 sets of leaves prick out into 3inch pots and grow on
