 I have been advised by Paypal that the following information is correct, regarding how items lost or damaged in transit should be dealt with.

ITEMS NOT RECEIVED BY THE BUYER

Once I have dispatched your goods, that is where my responsibility legally ends.   Any parcels which are then lost in transit are the responsibility of whichever delivery service I have used, usually Royal Mail.

With every parcel I dispatch, I always get a proof of postage, signed and date stamped, from the Post Office.  This is kept by me for one month from the date of sending.   If you have not received your goods within three weeks of your purchase being made, you need to email me and tell me that you have not received your purchase.   You then need to go to the Royal Mail website at www.royalmail.com to download a claim form.   I will then email or post you the proof of posting, which you then need to present to Royal Mail as part of your claim.  

ITEMS RECEIVED DAMAGED

Please note: Royal Mail does NOT accept liability for damage to glass items (which is the majority of my products) for damage.     If you have not taken out my optional insurance when you purchased your item, then unfortunately there is nothing either I or Royal Mail can do to help you. 

It is very rare for items to get lost or damaged in transit; however, this does sometimes happen and it is your responsibility to decide whether to take the optional extra insurance.
