Give someone a little treat with this Swinging Santa Hat.
Materials required
Swinging Santa Hat Base Card Embellishments Glue Peel Offs Glitter Knitting wool or a Pom Pom.
- Follow the instructions to fold your Santa hat and base.
- Decorate the main part of the hat and also the folded over part that is the top of the hat. Remember you will need to fold it first before you decorate it so you decorate the right side.
- Once the decoration has dried add a peel off greeting and then glue the hat to the rocking base.
- If you want to add a pom pom to the hat use the circles provided. Put the two circles together and then wrap wool round and round going through the middle hole. Do about 2 or 3 layers, not to thick or the pom pom will be heavy. Now carefully cut the wool at the edge of the circle and get the scissors in-between the two pieces of card and then cut all around the edge of the circle. Pull the two pieces of card apart slightly, just enough to get a piece of wool inside and wrap it around the cut bunches of wool and tie in a tight knot. Remove the pieces of card and trim your pom pom and glue into place.
You are ready to send your Swinging Santa Hat.
Hints & Tips
If you are going to send through the post we would advise not using a pom pom as it will make the card heavy and bulky.
This card is perfect for children.
If you are going to use glitter on your card we suggest you use the cheap large glitter that is available as it will cover the card quickly.
We used the fluffy wool for the pom pom and then used it at the bottom of the hat but any scrap wool can be used.
The card is called a swinging card as the base is rounded so the card swings side to side. For this to work make sure that the decorations are light. We used the glitter fabric and it gave a nice look to the hat but was too heavy to make it swing.
Happy crafting.
