Q: How do I wear my Wig for the first time?
Remove wig from the plastic bag. Gently remove the protective hair net from your wig. Give your wig a few good shakes to separate the fibres and give some body to the hair. Shaking releases the pre-set styling.
Brush your hair off your face at the top and sides. If your hair is too long, you may want use pins to help keep it off and away from your face and at the back and sides. Use of a wig liner or wig cap to keep your existing hair in place is advisable especially if you have long hair. If you don't have one try an old stocking, cut an old pair of tights in half, it will work just as well as a wig cap.
Hold your wig at the sides with the woven label in back. Place it at your naturalhairline and slide it on from front to back. Adjust the wig as needed so the front edge is just over your natural hairline. Use the ear tabs to centre your wig from left to right. If the wig is too tight undo the hooks at the base of the neck and try again. If the wig is too loose move the hook up a level and retry the wig - repeat until comfortable.
Tuck in any stray hairs at the front, sides and nape. Style as required by using a wire brush, a wire pick, or your fingertips. Avoid using a brush designed for human hair.
Q: How do I know if a wig will fit?
A: TRESSAIR wigs are adjustable and will therefore fit 90% of adult head sizes. The hair is sewn onto an adjustable cap. Just adjust the hooks to make bigger or smaller.

Q: What type of Hair is used for TRESSAIR Hair Extensions?
A: TRESSAIR Hair Extensions are made of premium Japanese Kanekalon fibre – this fibre is the most technologically advanced fibre you can get. This hair is virtually indistinguishable from human hair. Synthetic hair is easier to care for than Human hair and are much more affordable. A high quality synthetic hairpiece is more realistic than a low quality human hairpiece. The Kanekalon fibre used to make synthetic hairpieces has "memory" which means it maintains its wave or curl, texture and volume, requiring minimal upkeep. We use premium Kanekalon on all TRESSAIR hairpieces with the exception of Fringes/bangs so hairpieces are high hest resistant (up to 140C).
Q: Can Clip in Extensions be straightened, curled and / or cut?
A: Yes, Heat resistant Japanese Kanekalon can be straightened, curled (up to 140C) and/or cut.
Q: Can I use regular mousse and hairspray with my new extension/ponytail/wig?
A: Yes you can use regular mousse / hairspray on synthetic wigs for extra body and hold.
Q: Can I colour/Dye and/or Perm the hair?
A: No we do not recommend the use of any dyes or perms as this could permanently damage to hair. As synthetic extensions are fairly inexpensive, after you take into account the time involved to dye and/or perm plus cost for materials, it would be a better investment to buy additional sets in other colour(s) or style
Q: Can I wash them and how often should I do that?
A: You should wash them every 10-14 wears. For best results you should use a mild shampoo, the extensions should be left to dry naturally.
Q: How do I wash my synthetic ponytail / wig / hairpiece? A: Fill your sink with cool water and add some shampoo water (if it has picked up smoke or other odour add a teaspoon of baking soda when washing). Let your hairpiece soak for a few minutes then swish it around in the water; but don't rub, scrunch or twist. After rinsing, apply a good conditioner & using your fingers, gently comb through. Rinse again with cold water, blot gently with a towel; & hang to dry on a wig stand, or lay on a bath towel to completely dry overnight.
Do not dry with hair drier, always let synthetic hair dry naturally. Only use a brush on the hair after it is completely dry – for styling please refer to advice below.
Q: How do I style my ponytail or wig?
A: Your ponytail or wig can be styled by using a wire brush, a wire pick, or your fingertips. Avoid using a brush designed for human hair. These brushes can create excessive tension, over-stretching the hair with abrasive strokes that may damage the hair. The ponytails and wigs we carry are “shake & wear” and can be styled by simply using a wide tooth comb or your fingertips.
The best styling tool is the most inexpensive; a spray bottle of clean, cool water. Lightly spritz your hairpiece with water to remove static electricity and return your hairpiece to its original style
HAIRPIECE STYLE SPECIFIC STYLING
Ringlet or tight curls: Give a good shake and then gently lift and separate curls with your pick comb, or style with your fingers. Do not brush.
Wavy or loose curls: Lightly brush using short lifting strokes, just enough to relax and shape your style.
Straight: Lightly brush with long, even strokes, from the crown to the ends for a smooth, sleek look.
Q: How do I store my wig?
A: The best way to store your wig is on a wig stand. Not only does this help prevent your wig from becoming tangled or soiled between wearing, it also helps to maintain your wig's style and shape. Ideally, your wig should be stored in a clean, dry place, away from dust and sources of high heat or flame. If you do not have a wig stand always store your wig turned inside out and place it in an old shoe box or similar.
