Postage & Packing
The items we sell are all heavy and therefore the postage and packing charge is not cheap, especially as the Royal Mail see fit to increase their rates by 20% in one go in 2012. Where possible we will now start to use couriers for our deliveries but as we are located in the Scottish Islands this will only be cheaper when sending to the the Scottish Highlands & Islands. Royal Mail will remain the cheapest method of carriage to mainland UK. We have calculated the carriage charge on all of our tiles very accurately by weight, allowing a little extra for packing.
All of our parcels are very carefully wrapped using good quality recycled boxes, foam sheets plus bubble wrap. The foam, bubble wrap and tape we use costs approx 30p per parcel. We live 12 miles from our nearest post office, so a return trip costs us half a gallon of diesel, thats another £3.50. SO, our handling costs amount to approximately £3.80 per parcel, which is in addition to the Royal Mail postage charge where applicable. We therefore make a loss on each parcel, only breaking even if we dispatch more than 10 each day.
Please consider this when leaving detailed feedback on our Postage Charge. With the new eBay system of buyer ratings a P&P rating of below 4.6 costs us lost discount on listings, and this amounts to a considerable extra cost over each month. Our P&P charges are clearly stated against each product, if you don't think it's reasonable, then please do not buy from us!
We do not look to make a profit out of the postage costs, this would be unjust in our opinion and is counter-productive in the long run. Please look at our feedback comments regarding speed of delivery and quality of packaging, you get what you pay for !!

Domestic Postage
We use Royal Mail for all but the largest parcel to Mainland UK, we aim to post these parcels within 48 hours of order receipt. Large parcels and Highland & Islands parcels are sent by courier service, a 4-5 day delivery.
We always obtain proof of posting. If you require a guaranteed delivery we can offer any of the Royal Mail options on request.
International Postage
We use the Royal Mail Airmail service for all deliveries up to 2kg, this covers all tiles sizes up to 8x12. The larger tiles weigh in excess of 2kg and therefore cannot be sent by this route. These larger parcels have to be sent by courier service such as DHL and therefore may make our tiles uncompetitive on price with those from locally based suppliers. This is a great shame as we believe the quality and range we offer is as good if not better than any other art tile supplier on ebay. We can, however, offer a Surface Mail option which is far cheaper than courier. Although it will take between 2-10 weeks for delivery, depending on destination, the savings are significant.
