| The original concept for Skin Actives we that we would offer some great ingredients for users to put into their favorite creams and lotions. To make things easier we decided to offer our own cream so that we could easily answer the question ‘what cream do you recommend with this active?’ In addition to our Canvas cream we offered our Sea Kelp Bioferment that users were able to use in dozens of different ways and produced really great results. Last month we added our ELS – ‘Every Lipid Serum’ that was designed to replenish lipids in the skin and provide a base for our oil soluble actives. This month we are adding a Sea Kelp and water serum for users that want to work with water soluble actives. It is easier to use than our pure Sea Kelp as it allows for better dissolution of some actives as well as a more pleasant feel on the skin. Our current selection of five bases are as follows: ‘Canvas’ Base Cream – A basic cream with Jojoba Oil and Hyaluronic Acid. This cream is great on its own or serves as an excellent base for both oil and water soluble actives. Sea Kelp Bioferment – This is the miracle broth in ‘Crème de la Mer’ products. This product can be used as a base for any of our water soluble actives. It is probably our favorite product as it has so many uses. It is incredibly nutritious and works perfectly as a mask or added to bath water. We package it with a customizing kit that can turn it into a shampoo or facial cleanser. Some customers have found it to be a little drying when not combined with Canvas (we recommend a mix of 4 oz. of Canvas to 1 oz. of seakelp). Visit our forum for 101 uses and recipes. Liquid Crystal – Used as a base for lip nourishing recipes, we have also found it to work nicely with home made creams. The crystals look great and add a fabulous consistency to creams. Can be used directly on the eye area to provide nutrition and hide wrinkles. ELS – Every Lipid Serum – A lot of pressure was placed on us by our forum community to develop a ‘serum’. We were not sure exactly what a serum meant, so Hannah put together a mix of oils and other actives that replenish the skin. The reaction has been extremely favorable, making ELS a great addition to our line. ELS can be used as a base for our oil soluble actives such as ALA and GABA. ELS is 100% active with no fillers. Users who do not like ‘oily’ products should consider layering this serum with our Sea Kelp or Canvas Base Cream to balance the consistency while benefiting from this extreme moisturizing and replenishing product. MNS – Marine Nutrient Serum – Our new serum is a great mix of sea kelp and other nourishing products. It can be used alone or can be used as a base for some of our best water soluble actives. All our bases are great on their own, but they reach their full potential when your favorite actives are added to achieve the desired effect for your skin.
