Care of Your Fingerpicks
It is a normal occurrence for your fingerpicks to turn darker with exposure to air and the oils in your fingers. If you prefer to keep them bright and shiny, cleaning is
a very simple thing.
NICKEL SILVER
You can use any good metal polish to clean the nickel silver fingerpicks. Wenol Metal Polish works great, but since it is indeed a polish, it will leave a slippery finish
which is not desirable for the inside surface of your fingerpicks. Therefore, I finish off the cleaning with non-abrasive toothpaste to take the polish off of the inside of the picks.
BRASS
Metal polish should not be used on brass fingerpicks.
For brass I use Brasso, and finish off with non-abrasive toothpaste.
If you prefer not to use chemical cleaners, or even for a quick easy cleaning of your fingerpicks, you can simply dip them in a small amount of ketchup, rub lightly, rinse
thoroughly, and dry with a soft cloth. This will bring both the nickel silver and brass back to a nice shine.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless Steel finger picks can be cleaned simply using dishwashing liquid in warm water. Rinse thoroughly and wipe with a soft cloth.
