How to get the best fitting trousers/jeans.
Find your most favourite pair of jeans. The ones that feel the most comfortable.
Lie them flat on a table or on the floor. Fasten the buttons. Then measure from left to right on the waist band, not pulling on the fabric or forcing it to stretch.
Take the measurement and double it.
That is the waist measurement you are looking for.
Repeat the same for the hips.
The rise measurement is from the crotch to the button. This is the measurement to know if the trousers you are buying are hipster or high waist.
The inside leg is from the crotch to the hem along the leg seam
All the ladies trousers I have in my shop are measured this way and they will all be listed with all the necessary measurements too.
They may say on the label that they are a 14, but please check the measurements too, as we ladies know, each shop makes up their own mind what size a 14 is.
