Q. Where Can I find code listings for universal remotes? A. We do not have listings for various universal remote controls, many of these code lists are available on the internet. The following link is a good starting point for finding lost codes: www.xdiv.com/remotes/index.html
Q. Are the remote controls we sell the original factory remotes? A. Yes, we buy our remotes directly from the original manufacturer or their distributor. The remote control will either be the same as your original or the manufacturer's replacement, if the original remote is no longer available.
Q. If a manufacturer substitutes a different remote for the original remote, will it handle all functions for your unit? A. Yes, in almost all cases. Occasionally a manufacturer will have to replace the original remote with one that can not perform all the features of the original. If this is the case, you will be advised in advance of purchase.
Q. Will I have to program my replacement remote to work with the unit it came with.? A. No, original replacement remotes do not require programming.
Q. If this remote operates other type of units, will I have to program it to operate the other units? A. If the other units are the same brand you will probably not have to program the remote. If they are a different brand, you will have to program the remote for the additional units.
Q. Can't I just buy a universal remote to replace the original remote? A. If your unit is an older one (over 14 years) you may not be able to use a universal remote. Many newer units have special features or menus that require the original remote control to fully operate the unit. If your unit is fairly basic, try a universal remote from a store which will allow you to return the remote if it doesn't perform as required.
Q. Where do I find the model number on my unit? A. There is a model/serial number label on the back of the unit. Occasionally the label will be on the bottom of the unit. You will need the model number |
