All decals
and stickers sold here are self-adhesive 'peel & stick' type
products, and extremely simple to apply. A
dry application method is suitable for all graphics, however please
realise that the application tips below are just guidelines and
you should follow any specialist instruction that accompanies
your product where applicable.
The stickers
and decals can be applied to most clean and smooth surfaces such
as glass, metal, plastic and fibreglass - but DO NOT apply the
decal to engine parts or anywhere hot. Please take neccessary
care when applying decals and stickers to surfaces, Rock Artist
Studios will accept NO responsiblity for these being used incorrectly
or inappropriatley.
GENERAL
STICKER/DECAL DRY APPLICATION
- Ensure that your chosen surface is a suitable one. Please
practise common sense and do not decide to stick the decal or
sticker anywhere dangerous or anywhere that might cause harm to
yourself or the item you are customising. Use an appropriate cleaner
to make sure that you are working on a grease/dust free surface.
The surface should be dry, and out of direct sunlight. Your hands
should be clean and grease free. When you peel the backing off
the decal or sticker, handle it as little as possible, before
lining it up to the desired position. Stick it from the bottom
first, and rub it on as you stick it down bit by bit, taking special
care to rub out any air bubbles. If you find that you have some
air bubbles that cannot be smoothed out, often they can be popped
with a pin, and the edges rubbed down. A squeegee or plastic card
(credit card style) can be useful for applying decals.
LETHAL THREAT DECALS are designed to last 3-5 years
of extreme outdoor conditions. They are screen-printed with UV
resistant inks on clear 4 mil vinyl. They can be clearcloated
over, however Lethal Threat make NO guarantees about
this due to types of clearcoat behaving differently. Lethal
Threat are NOT responsible for any mistakes or damage caused
by applying clearcoat over the decals. Due to the high-tack adhesive,
the decals will not peel off during vehicle/item washing or everyday
weather conditions. Lethal Threat decals can be removed
from the surface if need be, and will not remove any auto-paint,
however they may leave behind a residue. The decals can be used
once only.
(the
following application instruction is quoted from the manufacturer's
website)
"Our
line of Lethal Threat decals are simple "Peel n
Stick" type decals. For our smaller size decals we recommend
a dry application. For our tank decals, or large decals, you can
use the dry application or a wet application method. Below you
will find instructions for both types of applications."
DRY
APPLICATION - LETHAL THREAT DECALS ONLY - "Clean
the surface where you will apply the decal. Use window cleaner,
soapy water or rubbing alcohol to prep the surface, and dry with
a lint free cloth. Surface temperature should be 55F to 70F, and
not in direct sunlight. With clean dry hands, peel the sticker
from the backing card. Try to handle the decal as little as possible,
only holding by edges. Line up the sticker how you would like
it. Attach the bottom part of the sticker to the surface, using
a sqeegee or credit card, rub the rest of the decal onto the surface.
If you do have any air bubbles trapped, use a pin to make a small
hole and rub until all bubbles are out."
WET
APPLICATION - LETHAL THREAT DECALS ONLY - "Clean
the surface where you will apply the decal. Use window cleaner,
soapy water or rubbing alcohol to prep the surface, and dry with
a lint free cloth. Surface temperature should be 55F to 70F, and
not in direct sunlight. Get a spray bottle, fill with water and
add two to three drops of dish washing detergent, shake bottle
to mix solution. Spray a light mist of the fluid on the desired
location where you will apply the decal. With clean hands, peel
the sticker from the backing paper, do not let the decal stick
to itself. Position
the decal in the misted desired location, using a squeegee or
straight edge, rub the decal from the center out pushing out any
trapped fluid and air bubbles."
"For
a custom look, some of our customers trim the excess clear border
with a razor blade or X-ACTO knife and then apply the decal. We
do not guarantee your results if you clear coat over our decals."
