Who is "Oxbloodoi"?

My name is Chris, I have been in the Oi and Punk Scene for a long time. I was born in South London, England and after having lived in the USA, I am now based in Leipzig Germany. I spend a lot of time in the Punk and Oi scene, I organize punk and oi gigs here in Germany and visit as many festivals as time and money permits.

Does Oxbloodoi have a permanent street based shop to visit?

No, I run a "one man show" based from my home in Leipzig. I run the oxbloodoi website on the side of other jobs I do. This means that I try to update my website and the items listed when I have time, which is a lot of work and I have to fit this in around other jobs I do as well as gigs and festivals I frequently visit. Unfortunaltely I am not able to make a living from the website, the items I sell help on paying for some festivals I travel to. I also try to keep my prices low as I am selling a lot to other punks and skinheads who are looking for classic clothing at a good price.

Where do you find all the items you sell?

Most of the items I sell are from people in the Punk and Oi Scene who have items they want to sell. Occasionally I also purchase items via Ebay or try to keep an eye out for stores that are going out of business and have wholesale lots to sell. I am always looking for items to sell and buy, so if you have any items you would like to sell, please contact me via the email link on my website.

Why are some "used" items more expensive than "brand new" items?

I sell both brand new and used / vintage items. Over the years I have seen that vintage items have become very much seeked after. For example, Getta Grip boots are no longer made and this makes their value higher. The same applies for some rare versions of Dr. Marten boots with the double stitching. Amongst the leather jackets I sell, the Lewis Leathers and Mascot Jackets, which are in some cases over 40 years old are priced higher than the regular Classic Biker Leather Jackets I sell as they are rare.

How long has Oxbloodoi been around?

I started Oxbloodoi when I had a few items of clothing to sell in 1999, this was originally a simple one page website. Since then it has expanded. I added a webcounter to my website in October 2001 and since then I have had over 1,5 Million visitors to the website.

What else is on Oxbloodoi apart from new and used clothing?

My website has extensive picture galleries including punk, skinhead pictures from around the world. I also have several galleries with pictures of studded, painted and patched punk, rocker and greaser jackets. Furthermore I have a "Youtube" channel where I have published several videos taken at gigs, festivals and other punk and oi events. There is a Forum for users who are interested in the Punk and Oi scene to leave messages for each other on specific topics. And last but not least, a "links" page to other relevant websites.
