We sell 100% solid timber products and these can change naturally whilst still being perfectly fit for purpose & we ask that you have realistic expectations of your furniture for this reason. We do not guarantee: 1) Against timber movement, cracks, swelling & shrinkage as these are all natural behaviors of wood in its local environment - many or all of these will revert when environmental conditions (e.g temperature & humidity), change back. These can manifest themselves as furniture that is stiffer, looser, gaps that narrow & widen & joints that create noise. 2)That moving parts will not require lubrication or adjustment. 3)Against changes in texture, colour and general appearance of timber or upholstery. 4)That an identical item will be offered in the event of replacement. 5)The behaviour of timber or against changes in materials due to use or factors in your local environment, or against accidental damage, deliberate damage, mis-use & fair wear and tear.6)Minor defects in the timber will not be classed as fault, including those created by man or impact. Our QC staff will pass whole items of furniture with minor imperfections including but not limited to: small scuffs, small dents, uneven finishing, knotted areas being a little rougher, uneven colouring of timber, filler used, filled holes, repositioned hardware. We simply ask for your realistic approach to purchasing a natural product. Some items may on arrival, or weeks, months or years later, require either a little time for local climatic change, or small DIY adjustments, (for example tightening of bolts). We reserve the right to offer a repair or exchange, whichever is the most economical. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. Photographic evidence will be requested for all claims. The summary is that some basic maintenance will be required. Real wood furniture needs to adjust to heat and moisture levels. Cold temperatures for example will constrict wood whilst heat will cause it to expand & joints therefore widen. Regardless of this, they will remain functional, servicable pieces of furniture.
