For posted items, we will accept returns for any reason for 21days from the day of dispatch (assuming it is in its original condition) - we would appreciate a call before you return the item so we can watch out for it and arrange a refund asap.
Outwith this period please give us a ring and we will do what we can.
Returns can only be accepted if the item is in the original condition, unless an item is faulty we will not normally pay P&P costs for you to return the item to us.
We recommend that you use a tracked delivery service to return the item.
For larger second hand items (i.e. ex hire boats) we prefer that the item is collected by you so that you can trial the item and give it a thorough examination, simply because the delivery costs involved in sending out and returning these items can work out expensive for both of us.
If we deliver a boat in person again we prefer that someone is available to examine it on collection - because if you are not happy it is simpler for all involved for us to take it away again. (We try to describe boats accurately for this reason, and so far have never had an ex-hire or demo boat returned - although very occasionally we may need to send out a replacement bung or other small fitting) All discounted ex display, ex-demo and ex hire boats come into this category.
Regardless of this policy we want you to be happy with your purchase and if you have any issues let us know and we will help if we can.
New boats can be dispatched straight from the manufacturer and in these cases we offer refunds as per posted items above. Nb this does not affect your statutory rights. Smaller second hand items that are sent via courier have the same return policy as new items.
Refund processing time:
Refunds will be processed within 1 working day of the item being returned to us. Unless instructed and agreed otherwise (before the item is returned to us) we will return the payment by the same method as it was paid. i.e. paypal is refunded to paypal, credit card to credit card...
Whilst we will always process a return within 24hrs of the item getting back to us, PayPal can take some time (almost 2 weeks in a recent case) to credit the funds back onto your bank account or credit card. This is out with our control. (It is faster if you have paid with your PayPal balance rather than bank transfer or credit card via paypal).
Normal credit cards processed by Nichol End takes 2-4working days for the money to arrive back into your account. We are obliged to refund a credit card payment back on to the card it was paid with.
Will normally be refunded by cheque.
If you are returning an item that was paid for in cash please call us first - if it was a large amount of cash we are unlikely to have enough cash on site to make the refund in cash. In this case we can either refund by bank transfer, cheque or if we have a day or two's notice get the cash specially.
