Approved professional installation is an installation done by a state certified wind turbine installer or certified electricians who have successfully installed similar output wind turbines of other brands.
If you wish to have a warranty...We must approve professional installation status before you order a wind turbine. You can submit related documents to us for verification before ordering.
Additionally...For grid tie wind turbine installation the installer must also have experience with installing grid tie wind turbines and must have experience with getting local government certification for grid tie wind turbine installations.
We consider any installation other than by an approved professional installer as a self-installation.
The WindMax wind turbine warranty applies to WindMax HY series wind turbines only (HY400, HY-600, HY-1000, , HY-2000, HY-3000).
HY400: Generator & controller: 1 month from purchase date

HY-600: Generator & controller: 1 month from purchase date

HY-1000 & Up: Generator & controller: 1 month from purchase date

Controller's warranty is offered up to 40 mph wind speed. Wind generator should be properly short-circuited to protect wind generator in the event of wind speed higher than 40 mph.
We don't provide warranty for WindMax 2KW wind turbines (V20)
Warranty is invalid if the product is used other than as intended by the manufacturer.
Warranty is conditional upon the following: Within the warranty period we will replace the defective parts. The factory will determine if a part is indeed defective.
This warranty does not cover failures or damages due to the following:
Failures or damages caused by improper installation or setup, unusual use or failure to follow installation user manual.
Failures or damages caused by lightning
Failures or damages caused by wind speed above maximum security wind speed.
Failures or damages caused by improper wiring to batteries
Blade failures or damages caused by contact with other objects
Failures or damages caused by failing to follow the guidelines established by state and local regulations
The warranty is void in case of repairs by any unauthorized person
The warranty is void if the wind turbines are not installed by approved professional wind turbine installers by us
WindMax, HYenergy wind turbines are not UL/CSA listed.

All WindMax wind turbines must be installed following the guidelines established by state and local regulations. Consult a local electrical contractor or the local planning and zoning office for details and regulations.
All WindMax wind turbines under warranty must be shipped for repair or replacement at the end user's expense.
Under no circumstances, wind turbine should be disconnected from load. Wind turbine/controller could get damaged when wind turbine is running under no load (wind turbine running without load is called “freewheeling”). If controller experiences failure, you must short-circuit the wind generator immediately by crossing out 3 AC wires from wind generator to prevent freewheeling. We don't provide warranty for damaged wind generator due to freewheeling under any circumstances including freewheeling caused by controller failure.
Properly sized fuses or circuit breakers are required for ALL CONNECTIONS (wind turbine to controller, controller to battery) to minimize the risk of fire and/or wind turbine/electrical failure.
Wind turbine must be installed 27 feet or higher above any obstacles (such as treetops) within 500 feet radius. Wind turbine is extremely sensitive to wind speed. Tower that is not 27 feet above obstructions within 500 feet may dramatically reduce performance, taller tower is recommended.
Wind turbine must be installed with clear wind flow path for the wind moving direction.
We don't provide warranty for wind turbines installed on boats.
Customer must provide detailed proof and information we request to support the claim. If information we request is not submitted to us, we cannot start the warranty claim.
We will work with factory to decide if the parts are indeed defective. We will need time to verify if the parts are defective or not. The process normally takes 3 to 4 weeks, or even longer.
Due to possible inferior installations that may not be up to U.S. standards...All warranties on wind turbines and inverters and their accessories installed outside of the 50 United States are null and void.
