How Does Epidermx II Microdermabrasion Cream Work?

This microdermabrasion cream works by gently removing the very top layers of skin with tiny natural crystals of pure Corundum (the same crystal that forms the base substance of sapphires and rubies and the second hardest natural substance next to a diamond!) which then triggers the body's healing response. This healing response then stimulates the growth of new skin and encourages an increase of elastin & collagen in the skin - both of which generally result in smoothed out, fresh looking, clearer new skin over the areas of use.

The technique gently resurfaces the skin, removing debris and old dead skin, revealing the new cells underneath and encouraging the production of new smoother, clearer skin. The crystals have an astringent effect on the pores of the skin, which also helps to shrink pore size.

 It is most often used on the face and neck, but can be utilised on any part of the body such as the backs of the hands. Unlike many other products on the market, it is completely natural and does not require the use of any messy machine or hand held device. It is simply massaged in with fingertips onto a moist face after cleansing.

Can I use it when pregnant or breastfeeding?

I have asian / black skin - can I use Epidermx II?

Absolutely! Your skin colour makes no difference - we have customers of every ethnic background who use and love the Epidermx II ^TM!

 
Are the results permanent or do I need to keep using it?

That depends on what you are using it for.  The real magic of Epidermx II ^TM is seen with regular daily use – we can't emphasise that enough!

It was designed to be used as part of your ongoing daily skin care routine to keep pores clear of debris and keep skin cells turning over quickly & removing the dead skin on top which is believed to aggravate many skin issues. However, whether or not you would need to keep using it depends on what you are trying to treat.

For acne or spots you may not need to use the product as often once the skin is cleared, although we recommend you continue to use it as often as necessary to 'maintain' the skin in its healthy state.

With scars and stretch marks the results are permanent once achieved, although new stretch marks may appear from any subsequent weight loss/ gain or pregnancy, or new scarring from subsequent acne breakouts.  Any new marks would have to be treated separately form the original condition.

If you are using Epidermx II ^TM to help keep wrinkles at bay or to keep your skin looking radiant then yes you do have to use it regularly to continue to benefit from the effects. It was designed to fit very easily into your daily routine (a quick 15-30 second scrub!) so that great skin is almost effortless!

How long does a jar of Epidermx II last?

One 30ml jar lasts 1 to 2 months based on average facial use (once nightly use). If you are using it over larger areas on the body, for example to treat stretch marks, then obviously it will be used up faster.  However, people often make the mistake of using too much of the product for each application – Epidermx II ^TM is concentrated so you do not need much at all!
You should be using just enough on moist (but not soaking) skin so that it feels gritty when massaging it in.

 
Does it really work on acne / scars / stretch marks?

Have your read our testimonials and seen the Before & After pictures?  Those are genuine, unretouched photos of our customers, and  verifiable testimonials.

We can't make specific predictions as to how the product will work in any individual case since everyone is different and has a unique response, but Epidermx II ^TM has worked exceptionally well for many of our customers with acne, scars & stretch marks (even ones they have had for many years). 

Epidermx II ^TM works by gently taking off the hardened top layers of skin, which then triggers the body's healing response. It's not an overnight process and can take up to a few months to get the results for some people (depending on how severe the condition is - if scarring goes deeper than the epidermal layer then it is very difficult to treat and beyond the effect of this product), although as you'll be able to see from our feedback and testimonials a lot of people see results very quickly (a couple of applications for some although this should not be the expected timeframe!).

The before and after photos we show for the girl with the belly button scars were taken over a period of 2 months.

As with anything you try there are never any guarantees of success and no product on the planet works for everyone, but we have had some amazing results reported by so many of our customers, and all the pictures and testimonials we display are 100% genuine.

Does it work on pigment issues like hyperpigmentation, brown marks and age spots?

Many customers have reported good results in treating pigment issues such as age spots with Epidermx II ^TM. 

Recognise that most hyper-pigmentation problems contain an element of hormonal issues - for men as well. EpidermxII ^TM removes the surface layers of skin. This is why there is an improvement for hyperpigmentation with microdermabrasion. The hormonal element is increased with sun exposure. You may see results, go out in the sun and see an increase in the pigment and think the product isn't working. The real issue is the product is working - you are just creating more pigment changes by the sun exposure.  With all pigmentation issues you should be conscious of sun exposure and protect yourself with a good SPF.
Scarring of the deeper dermal layers cannot be removed with microdermabrasion.

I have sensitive skin – can I use it?

Epidermx II ^TM is formulated to be as natural as possible and therefore suitable for sensitive skin but to help avoid any reaction we would recommend that you begin with just a 15-20 second scrub on a small test area to see how your skin responds, and build it up from there according to how well your skin tolerates it.

The only adverse reactions we have had over the last 8 years have been people who have been allergic to corundum crystal. We have had 10 returns in 8 years. The NaturDerm ^TM product line was developed for people with sensitive skin. It is one of the purest product lines available, and even rarer are the silicone-free products. If you have allergies to known ingredients in our product line, we recommend you consult with your health care professional and do not use the product.

What follow up products do you have? Do I need the whole set?

We have 2 excellent follow-up products to the Epidermx II ^TM.
The first one, Chrysalyx ^TM ultra hydration environmental shield is an all-round performance moisturising serum which also detoxes, firms, tones and repairs the skin.
We also have Naturdermx ^TM ultimate peptide complex, which is a Botox-alternative 
anti aging serum containing the latest peptide technology in the purest form available.

This product range has been designed as a full end-to-end skin care system, and they work synergistically (i.e. you get more benefit by using them together)  but each product also works fantastically on its own. We strongly recommend that you follow up your Epidermx II ^TM microdermabrasion treatment with at least one of our moisturising products to nourish and protect your newly exposed fresh skin cells. Since the vast majority of commercial  products out there contain silicones, nasty fillers and skin irritants, you could have an adverse reaction to a product you normally use if you apply it after microdermabrasion. Besides - why would you want to undo all your good work by depositing harmful ingredients back into your newly unclogged pores?  Both Chrysalyx and Naturdermx have been lovingly created with active natural ingredients and no bad stuff so they are the perfect partners to Epidermx II ^TM.  It's all good!

They were designed to be used together as a 3 step end-to-end skin care system but you can mix and match dependent on your own skin type and needs.

How Do I Use Epidermx II TM?

There is a cumulative effect that occurs with regular usage.

EpidermxII ^TM is most effective if used nightly as a scrub for 10-30 seconds.

Wash your face and rinse. While skin is still moist , take a small amount of Epidermx II ^TM and gently massage the face in a circular motion - as if you were re-washing your face, then just rinse and pat your skin dry with a towel. Do this as part of your nightly routine, perhaps one night 10 seconds, the next 15 seconds. Keep it simple. If you have areas where you tend to break out, or have fine lines or pigment changes, you may want to work those areas longer. People with severe scarring and stretch marks should do this for 40-90 seconds once a day on the affected areas - some work up to twice a day over time.

Microdermabrasion occurs when the crystals scrape off dead skin cells; you no longer need to do a time-consuming treatment for this to occur.

We cannot emphasize enough that the magic of this product is seen with daily use!

Are These Products Only For the Face?

These products have been especially formulated for the delicate facial tissue, but their active ingredients are beneficial on the body also. A lot of our customers (even bodybuilders!) use a combination of the Epidermx II ^TM and the Chrysalyx to treat stretch marks on the body, and others treat aging skin on the hands and chest. It's totally up to you!

I have very large pores and heavy scarring - how can I get the best results?

Epidermx II ^TM has a natural drying effect on its own due to the astringest properties of the crystals. If you notice your skin becoming too dry - you are over-doing it! Cut back on your usage. Some people with heavy scarring find they do best using the product as a scrub in the morning and evening. This is not an overnight fix. Be patient. If you are consistent in your routine, you will see results! We receive hundreds of testimonials from people with scarring so severe they were embarrassed to go outside, people with scars from cancer treatments, people with scars from acne, stretch marks - just about everything. Realise that not every product works for everyone but this product has helped thousands of people; we believe you will see results as well.

I have acne, how should I use Epidermx II ^TM?

 Epidermx II ^TM was developed for Amy Merwin's (the product developer's) family! She was having hormonal acne issues and two of her children were having acne issues. Their father is an MD, grandfather is a Dermatologist, and Amy herself is a Registered Nurse. Nothing Dad or Grandpa prescribed for their acne worked as well as Epidermx II ^TM. 8 years later, they still use it daily - even Amy's son does. Excluding the occasional breakout, they have pretty much been acne free.  Epidermx II ^TM contains ingredients that have a sanitizing effect on the skin. We want the ingredients in the product to remain on the skin. It also removes dead skin cells and debris that clogs pores. You will find the best results when you use it at least once a day. Remember that acne has many facets to it. One of which is hormonal. Don't be discouraged if you get great results and then all of a sudden you are breaking out. It may be completely unrelated to the EpidermxII ^TM.

I have blackheads, will Epidermx II ^TM  help?

Epidermx II ^TM removes the surface layers of skin. Often times people will be surprised as their blackheads seem to come to the surface and "pop" out as the layers of skin are removed. Epidermx II ^TM also helps to prevent blackheads as it removes the debris that helps to cause them.

I have Rosacea, and have heard that it has helped many people.

According to Dermatologist, Charles Merwin MD, Rosacea is thought to be caused by Demodex Folliculorum. This is a mite that lives in the sebaceous glands of the skin. Everyone has this mite. For some reason, people with Rosacea have an over-abundance of them. Their excretions irritate, and infect the area leading to the stages of Rosacea. This is why many Dermatologists treat Rosacea with Sulfa creams and preparations. The beneficial effect of Epidermx ^TM and Epidermx II ^TM on people with Rosacea and other skin disorders was a surprise.  Epidermx II ^TM contains many ingredients that have a sanitizing effect on the skin. Some people with Rosacea have dry sensitive skin; others heavy oily skin.

 For those who have dry skin we recommend the Triple Lavender Face Foam ^TM, with a light daily scrub of Epidermx II ^TM. You may only be able to tolerate a longer treatment with Epidermx II ^TM once a week. Chrysalyx ^TM in particular is an outstanding product for those with Rosacea & dry skin.

I have Stretch Marks, have people had results with EpidermxII ^TM?

Have you seen our stretch mark before and after photos? Over the last several years, we have had many success stories with stretch marks. People tell us that the stretch marks seem to fade into the outside skin tone. They basically just massage the product into the stretch mark for a few minutes every day then rinse it off.

It seems like some of my pores are shrinking and some are getting larger!

I had the same thing happen to me, until I realized what was going on!! I was massaging some areas more thoroughly than others. I just had to slow down and pay attention to how long I was working each area.

I use Retin-A, or Differin can I use Epidermx II ^TM?

We recommend that you always consult with your own physician. If you are going to use Retin-A or retinol creams make sure you use it at the opposite time of the day as the Epidermx II ^TM. We have many people who use the two successfully in combination.

Can I use Epidermx II ^TM at the same time as glycolic acid products?

We recommend that you always consult with your physician. We recommend that you use Epidermx II ^TM at the opposite time of the day and we do not recommend you use acid based products after using Epidermx II ^TM.

What kind of results can I expect?

Each time you use Epidermx II ^TM you will notice something different. First you should notice a difference in the tone, texture and clarity of the skin. Using it nightly, after the first week you should see the beginning of a firmness. Over 4-6 months many begin to see actual lifting and the minimizing of surface lines. For acne and oily skin you will notice the decrease in oil very quickly.

There are a lot of microdermabrasion creams on the market, how is Epidermx II ^TM different?

Back in 2000 when Amy Merwin began the development of Epidermx ^TM, she predicted that there would not be any company producing skin care products that would not have a microdermabrasion product in their product line. That is how effective these products are on the skin. Epidermx ^TM was the first natural based manual microdermabrasion cream. Many companies have copied our ingredient list. Try them - they pale in comparison.

No one can ever exactly copy a product. Why? The raw ingredients can come from different suppliers and be of massively different quality, and the method of production has an effect on the quality of the end product too. NaturDerm ^TM is one of very few silicone-free product lines in the world, and the only hydrophilic-balanced one. The NaturDerm products use extremely high quality ingredients, are more expensive to produce, and hydrophilic-balance is one of the unique features of our products.

The second factor is the Corundum Crystal itself: Most of the Corundum on the market is actually a synthetic lab production from Bauxite and is far too soft to impact the skin, but our product is effective because it contains only pure medical-grade Corundum crystal.

Thirdly - most other products use cheap ingredients - many that clog the skin. You'll see the difference in the performance with these products.

When you use microdermabrasion cream you are removing the surface layers of skin and depositing the ingredients of the product down deep into the skin. You really can have a profound effect on your skin! Companies copy our products all of the time. A product may have the same ingredient list but it will not be the same product, the ingredients will often not be of the same quality nor will it perform the same. If you find products with like ingredients - test them - you'll find this to be true. So please be aware, only we have the original Epidermx II ^TM.
