These items are from my husband's best friend. John Silvant. John who lives in London, has been designing these pieces and selling them all over Europe for the past 60 years.
John was visiting one spring and I asked him if I could put the Sterling Silver pieces on eBay. He agreed and I've been selling them ever since.
Each art piece is made using the Lost Wax method. This sometimes delicate, very time-consuming process involves carving wax into the art form you desire to include every minute detail. The chosen metal is then poured into the wax cast. When the metal has hardened, the wax mold is broken away. The piece is then hand finished.
You are receiving an artist’s original model from which a mold is made and a certain limited number of copies can be made thereafter. Every piece will differ slightly because a new mold must be created every time. Each piece is solid British sterling silver. These models Mr. John Silvant's creation will go on being sold as long as he remains in business. He is an old man and will retire sometime.
