| |  | | Vintage Brass: Is also called rich low brass and is an alloy of approximately 85% copper and 15% zinc and is lead free. Brass is a lovely and durable metal with royal characteristics. It is normal to see variations in color and patina, depending on the age of the findings and manufacturing processes used. Mostly these findings are a gorgeous golden color. These can be used as is or finished any way you would like. Including painting and patinizing. Some lots of findings have been in storage for many years and have developed rich patinas and some are from newer production and are a gold color. These pieces can be cleaned with brass cleaners or ammonia and water, and vinegar and water. Upon cleaning the patina will be removed and the gold brass color will return. These are lovely sturdy findings made in the USA so the thickness is commercial weight and the detail is crisp. You will see the difference as you begin to order these vs the China made pieces shown on eBay as looking like them. They are not as sturdy and will not feel weighty like these. |
