Moon-Lites

A warm welcome to Moon-Lites and thank you very much for your interest.

You will find a whole range of items hand made from glass beads, Swarovski crystal, wire, filigree and sequins, materials traditionally used to add a luxurious sparkle to dolls house rooms. (Many of my ideas are drawn from the pretty European room boxes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which I  admire for their cosy elegance and shabby-chic charm.) The items are designed to go together, and also to be rearranged, so they are not just set pieces, leaving you the buyer in final charge of how they will look.

Lately I've been trying to finish my much-delayed 12th scale house and am amazed at how many different skills you need to do this. Coming from a beading direction, and starting with the chandeliers in the logo, I've tried to create a range of accessories in a definite style. New designs get tried out in a house setting first to see that they will work, but I also have a returns policy because you only truly know whether an item fits into your decor when it is placed there!

Even though I currently do this as a hobby, it is impossible to compete for price with the imported minis which have enabled us to enrich our houses without breaking the bank! However I try to create "talking-point" items which are that bit different, so people look twice and don't immediately know where you bought them. Beadwork is perfect for this, as it catches the light and the eye in a unique way and just says "look at me!"

 PS  New items will be listed regularly, usually on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Collectors may rest assured that these are original designs drawn from my love of full-sized jewellery, chandeliers, etc., plus a few inspired by published pictures and patterns. I would never draw from the designs of modern-day craftspeople as I feel this is against the crafting code.
