Attaching A Charm Using A Split Ring
1 - Grasp the jump ring on the right side of its opening with one set of pliers. Grasp the jump ring on the left side of the opening using the second set of pliers.
2 - Gently pull one side of the ring up with your pliers and the other side of the ring down with with the other set of pliers. This allows you to open the ring wide enough to add a charm to it. (DO NOT pull the jump ring apart from the sides, as it will not seal correctly)
3 - Put the jump ring back into place by using both sets of pliers until the sides of the ring line up and close tightly.
1 - Insert one end of your fingernail or a nail file into the end of the split ring just enough to separate the coils without bending it out of shape.
2 - Insert your charm into the opening and twist it around the split ring gently until split ring coils go back into place.
3 - If you now want to add your charm with the split ring to a European Bead or a bracelet repeat steps #1 and 2 on the opposite end of the split ring. Using the opposite end will help keep the split ring in shape.
4 - *Keep in mind that Sterling Silver is a very soft metal, so you need to be CAREFUL not to bend the ring open too much.
5 - The process is similar to adding a key to a key ring and will keep your charms secure without the need for soldering.
