We are having a lot of customers chasing items that were sent at the end of throughout December and January that haven't arrived yet. All items were despatched in the advertised time frame but we have been made aware of problems at royal mail which has caused long delays. Items are still arriving daily and we appreciate your patience. The latest information we have from royal mail is the following;

USA Mail Services

 

Increased security measures delay some mail to the USA

 

Increased security measures delays some mail to the USA the US Department of Homeland Security has increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines.  As a result, mail entering the US from around the world, including the UK, which would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means.  The latest details of the current arrangements and how we are dealing with mail can be found at: www.royalmail.com/internationalupdates

 

The US Postal Service has advised on continuing difficulty caused by severe weather in the United States, mail services have been affected in the Central Plains and Lower Missouri Valley, through the southern Great Lakes and Northern Ohio Valley, towards New York and the North East. Locations affected include Tulsa, Kansas, Des Moines, St Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York and Boston. In the south, along the Mississippi-Alabama line, and from South-East Louisiana into West Central and South West Georgia and the Florida panhandle.  The Washington DC area was not affected. The USPS international service centre’s in Chicago and New York are unable to carry out receipt or dispatch operations to or from the areas impacted.

Australia Mail Services

 

The aftermath in regions of North Queensland of category 5 tropical cyclone “Yasi”. Has been described as severe and has caused major disruption. Australia Post is unable to access any of the areas currently evacuated which include: Postcodes: 4650 – 4670, 4680 – 4999 Regions affected include: North Queensland – Cairns, Mackay, Townsville and Innisfail.

 

Egypt

Due to current civil unrest in Egypt, delivery of all types of mail has been severely affected throughout Egypt since 25th January 2011 and is likely to continue for the foreseeable future
