We use different types of leather for our items and have listed the differences in these types of leather.
Soft thick cowhide is a treated leather which gives a shiny finish and is used for motorcycle and jeans. The grain is visible on this type of leather. It is more resilient to wet weather.
Cowhide Nappa is much softer leather which is also treated but has a less shiny finish to it. This type of leather is mainly used for shirts and also jeans.
Lamb nappa is the same as the cowhide nappa but is slightly softer. This type of leather is prone to damage more easily if caught as it is super soft.
Naked leather is the premium leather. It has an almost Matt finish and is not treated in the same way as soft thick cowhide or cowhide Nappa leather. Naked leather is also breathable so is ideal for use in both summer and winter. We charge extra for this leather as it is much more expensive. Some listings are specifically for naked leather but if need to upgrade the charge is £39.99 for each item in most cases.
Chrome leather is used for belts, straps (Sam Browne belts) and restraints etc. This is thick belt leather and is natural and very tough. It is a premium leather type.
