Terms & Conditions

1. General

All orders that are accepted and goods supplied are subject to the following express terms and conditions of Laptop Outlet Ltd whose registered office is at 51 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 2EQ registered in England & Wales No. 07267226. These terms may change without notice to you in relation to future sales.

2. Description and Price

(a) The description & prices of the goods you order will be as shown clearly at the time you place your order.

(b) Goods are not supplied on a trial basis. Customers are responsible for verifying suitability and compatibility of equipment and applications before purchasing them.

3. Delivery and Shortages

(a) Delivery charges will be applicable to every order.

(b) In the case of goods purchased by credit/debit card (PayPal), those goods can only be shipped to the card holders registered statement address.

(c) If there is a change to the agreed delivery date then the buyer shall have the right to cancel the order and receive a full refund of the amount paid.

(d) If the delivery has been attempted on the agreed date and the buyer is not available to take delivery of the goods then an additional delivery charge may be applicable if the delivery is to be made again.

(e) Delivery dates and times are given in good faith but shall not amount to any contractual obligation to deliver at the times stated. Laptop Outlet Ltd will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through reasonable or unavoidable delay in delivery.

(f) Upon taking delivery of the goods the customer should examine the goods and sign the delivery note. If there is a shortage details should be written on the delivery note. Furthermore if the goods are damaged and not acceptable please refuse delivery.

4. Distant Selling Regulations 2000

(a) All cancellations must be confirmed in writing, fax, email ( cs@laptopoutlet.co.uk ) or other durable notice and clearly addressed to: Customer Services. Laptop Outlet Ltd 51 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 2EQ. Notification by phone is not sufficient.

(b) The Buyer may cancel the order, from the date of ordering to the day before the day of despatch of the order, without any charges and the Company will refund the Buyer in full by the original method of payment.

(c) The Buyer has a duty of care, under the regulations, to take care of the goods so that they may be re-sold again, by the Company. The Company will claim, from the Buyer, for the resulting loss in value for goods not kept in a reasonable condition. The Buyer must make the goods freely available at the original delivery address, to the Seller or his agent, within 21 days of cancellation, for collection on a working day. The regulations do not apply to unsealed licensed software. The Company will refund, less appropriate deductions (including courier delivery and collection charges), to the Buyer, within 30 days of the written notice of cancellation, by the original method of payment.

5. Refurbished Products

Refurbished products are all 100% OK! In fact, they represent amazing value for money, especially as we offer all our refurbished products with a hassle free warranty (See individual listings). These products may be classed as refurbished for a number of reasons:
They may have been previously sold, and subsequently returned to manufacturers and put back on sale for cosmetic packaging reasons. This is often as little as a broken seal.
Alternatively, they may simply have incurred amount of cosmetic packaging damage during handling in the day to day running of our business.
Some items may have been returned with a reported fault or where a customer had difficulty in using the product.
All of these products are returned to manufacturers or their official testing facilities where they are examined, fully tested, and if necessary, repaired and repackaged. Only suitable products, as classified by professional inspection and testing process, are then made available for sale through Laptop Outlet Outlet.
 

Refurbished products may be non-pristine, for example:
• On occasion some items may show signs of minimal use, which may include minor cosmetic marks which do not affect the functionality in any way.
• Although most of our refurbished products are sold in their original manufacturers packaging, there may be occasions, due to packaging damage, where plain white or brown packaging may be used.
• In a small number of instances, it may have been necessary to substitute some original manufacture accessories with generic compatible models, for example, Keyboards & Mouse, TV remote controls etc.
• Similarly, some original instructions or user manuals may be missing, printed or photocopies of the original.
 

The fact that we guarantee the products by a Return to base warranty means that you can purchase with full peace of mind.
Customers will have to either bring in or send the machine to Laptop Outlet at their expense to get it fixed. Once the machine is fixed, customers will be informed so that they could arrange a collection or pay Laptop Outlet to ship goods to them.
• We can only refund shipping costs if the return is a result of our error.
• We cannot fully refund or exchange an opened item unless it is faulty. Otherwise there will be a restocking charge of 10% - 25% based on the condition of the returned item.

6. Warranty & Returns

(a) The company supplies goods with the benefit of a 12 month manufacturer warranty unless stated otherwise in the item description. Warranty support may involve dealing directly with the manufacturer where possible.

(b) If the goods supplied develop a defect while under warranty or you have a complaint you should notify us in writing or e-mail cs@laptopoutlet.co.uk. For all returns you will be given a ‘Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) and it would be helpful if you would mark the package with this no. in order for us to identify the returned item.

(c) Unwanted items returned after 7 days from date of delivery for refund or exchange, for whatever reason, will be at the discretion of the company and if accepted will be subject to a re-stocking charge of 25% or more of the purchase value.
Software items will not be accepted for return unless the goods are faulty or mis-described or the shrink-wrap or copyright seal is intact. Items returned as faulty but found to have no fault (tested by manufacturer) may incur a testing charge, the value of which will be based on the cost to the Company without profit.

(d) Unwanted items or items returned for change of mind reasons once dispatched, if returned in sealed (in case of brand new items) will be refunded in full apart from delivery charges. If seal is broken  (in case of brand new items) implying the item being used or taken out of the box, there will be a restocking charge of 10% - 25% based on the condition of the returned item. This is because the item now cannot be sold as "Brand New" and has to be sold as 2nd User or Customer return / used item. Customer will be liable to pay for the return shipment cost and have to make sure they return it via Secure and online track-able service with an insurance cover to cover the cost of the item.

  • Items that bear health & safety issues such as mics, headphones cannot be accepted for refund once the box is opened due to hygiene reasons even with in 7 days. Customers will have right to have them repaired as per their warranty terms.
  • All Software products, such as Anti virus, MS Office etc, once bought cannot be refunded as per standard policy about such products.

(e) Software items will not be accepted for return unless the goods are faulty or mis-described or the shrink-wrap or copyright seal is intact. Items returned as faulty but found to have no fault (tested by manufacturer) may incur a testing charge, the value of which will be based on the cost to the Company without profit.

(f) Proof of despatch must be retained until the Company acknowledges safe receipt.

(g) All packaging material should retained until the goods are fully tested and functional. If goods are returned they should be returned with the original packaging.

7. Items Advertised as "New Other"

(a) When items are advertised with Condition as "New Other", this means that such items are Manufacturers' Reconditioned to Likew New Standards. They will Come in Original Packaging and hence are offered with 1 Year RTB (Return to Base Warranty).

They would not have any signs of usage, marks or scratches as in case with usual refurbished / Ex Demo or 2nd user machines.

8. Item Not Received

All our orders are shipped out the same or next working day and generally take 1-3 working days for delivery. However in the unlikely event of Item not received within 5 working days, please let us know immediately. Please note that any inquiries of such nature received after 5 working days of order placed, will not be entertained. In the event of  "Item not Received" reported by customers via eBay, we'll be shipping out a replacement subject to availability or contact customer offering alternate product or a refund. If a response is not received from us, it would mean that a replacement is sent straight away, and thus the customer must contact us with in 7 working days of their first message reporting the "Item not Received". Please note that any inquiries of such nature received after 5 working days of order placed, will not be entertained.

 

 

9. Consequential Loss

The Company's liability will be limited to the value of the goods only and not for any consequential damages or losses howsoever caused.

10. Data Protection

We will take all reasonable precautions to keep the details of your order secure but unless the company is negligent, we will not be liable for unauthorised access to information supplied by you.

11. Governing Law

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the laws of the United Kingdom Govern this contract.
