The compensation will be in the form of a cash refund or a merchandise credit. The refund does not include the cost of shipping. The shipping cost is always the responsibility of the Buyer. See EXAMPLES OF A VALID and an INVALID RETURN found below.
TERMS DEFINED:
RETURN OF ITEM: The Return of Item means that an item purchased and received is not satisfactory and can be returned to the seller upon mutual agreement between the Buyer and the Seller. This does not mean the Buyer receives an item, decides they do not like it and returns it to the Seller with no prior contact or notification.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: An item received has considerable damage or flaws not fully disclosed in the item description and / or the item photographs. Size is not a valid reason for a return as measurements are taken for each item and listed in each item description where appropriate. It is up to the Buyer to take their own measurements and match them to those in the item description and purchase the correct size.
ITEM RECEIPT: The date the item is delivered to the buyer by the U. S. Postal Service. This does not mean the date the package was opened by the Buyer. The date is determined by the U.S. Postal Service’s automatic shipping and confirmation of delivery date. This is non-negotiable.
EXAMPLE OF A VALID RETURN:
1) A Buyer purchased a White Bridal Veil. Upon receipt, it is clear the veil is Ivory and the item description has clearly stated it was White. The Buyer would contact the seller, return the item within 7-days and receive a full refund.
2) A Buyer purchased a Gown and it does not fit. After taking their measurements and the measurements of the actual gown, have determined the item description noted measurements are incorrect. The Buyer would contact the seller, return the item within 7-days, the Seller would validate the size and the customer would receive a full refund.
3) A Buyer purchased a Vintage Item and clearly it is moth ridden, filthy dirty and none of this was disclosed in the item description. The Buyer would contact the seller, return the item within 7-days and receive a full refund.
EXAMPLE OF AN INVALID RETURN
1) A Buyer purchased a pair of Vintage Gloves and they want to return them stating they know that they wear a size 6 ½, the gloves are tagged as a size 6 ½ by the designer / maker and they don’t fit. This is not a valid return. Measurements are taken across the inside palm, the length of the middle finger from web to tip and the length of the gloves and listed in each description. The Buyer must measure their hand and match to the description to insure proper fit. Vintage clothing items run smaller than those same sizes listed for modern clothing. So a size 6 ½ for a Vintage Item is not the same as a size 6 ½ for Modern Clothing. This same rule applies to the purchase of a Wedding Gown. A size listed for a Wedding Gown is typically not the same size you might buy for your normal everyday wear. They run typically a size or two smaller. The Buyer must not go by the listed size, but by the measurements.
2) A Buyer purchases a pair of Vintage Gloves and after 10 days contacts the Seller and states that the gloves are clearly mis-sized as they don’t fit and they know they wear a size 6 ½ and the measurements are misstated in the item description. Even though 10-days have elapsed, the Seller still offer’s a full refund to the Buyer as the measurements may be incorrect in the item description and need to be validated upon return. After 3 weeks from the date of item receipt, the Buyer finally gets back to the Seller and says they would now like to return the gloves. This would have been valid, except the Buyer has now owned the item for three weeks. At 10-days past item receipt, the Seller had agreed, but after 21 days past item receipt it is clearly not acceptable.
