The care and feeding of suction cups is so simple, we can come up with only two tips you need to remember!
TIP #1
Suction cups are a little like babies…sometimes you need to burp them.
The neat thing about suction cups is that, if they are applied to a clean, dry surface they will hold on indefinitely. But if you want to make sure the seal is still good…or if you see that the center of the suction cup is starting to lift up towards the edges, you can “burp” the suction cup to recreate a perfect seal. Then simply press the center of the cup down until you hear a burp sound. (Sorry, even though suction cups are truly amazing they can’t seem to remember to excuse themselves after being burped. We’re still working on that.)
TIP #2
Just like babies, suction cups should be kept clean and dry.
The neat thing about suction cups is that, if they are applied to a clean, dry surface where the temperature stays fairly constant, they will hold on indefinitely. But if you use suction cups in the bathroom or on an outside window, check them periodically to make sure the seal is okay (see above). Should they need cleaning, wash them with mild soap and water. Dry them before reapplying…just add a little bit of moisture inside before pressing the suction cup down.
