- Check the shape, thickness and quality of the bottle. Many glass bottles are very hard to reproduce and costly. This is usually where the counterfeiter will cut corners in production.
- Check the quality of the hardware ( caps,nozzles,latches, snaps,etc.) is it good quality sturdy hardware? This is another area counterfeiters will cut corners to save cost. Good quality hardware is expensive to production cost.
Tips on buying Authentic Perfume/Cologne at eBay
- Buy from reputable seller.
- Ensure the seller guarantees the perfume is 100% authentic and has return policy.
- Check the seller listings. Are the listings done professionally ?
- Check if the seller is paypal verified. Sellers of counterfeit products do not like to disclose their contact information. If the seller is paypal verified, paypal has done its part to ensure that the sellers provide the right address.
- Does the vendor specialize in Health and Beauty good? Does the vendor offer a variety of products. Most vendors offering counterfeit products tend to sell just a few items.
- Check the vendor’s feedback level. Do they have repeat claims of inauthentic merchandise?
- Does the price sound too good to be true? Then it probably is. The more popular and new release products are usually sold from the distributing manufacture to the retailer no more than 30-40% less than retail. Some of the older less popular and discontinued items may be offered to the retailer at a greater amount less than retail.
For example if an item retails for $82.00 and is sold from the distributor to the retailer at 40% off retail being offered by the retailer for less than $49.20 there is a very strong likelihood that you would be purchasing a counterfeit item.
