Measuring Guide

When measuring for curtains you should always measure your track or pole, not the window. It is therefore important to have your track or pole already added.

The track or pole should extend 15cm to 3 cm either side of the window to allow for the curtains to be opened properly without obscuring too much of the window.

Measuring for curtain width

Curtains to be fitted on a track

You must measure the full width of the track as shown in the below diagram.

When measuring a pole for curtains you must measure between the decorative end finials as shown in the below diagram.

Choosing your curtain width

Pole/track up to 48" (122cm) width - choose 46" (117cm) width curtains
Pole/track 48" to 66" (122 - 168cm) width - choose 66" (168cm) width curtains
Pole/track 66" to 90" (168 - 228cm) width - choose 90" (228cm) width curtains

Measuring for curtain drop

There are three basic drops you should aim for...

(1) Sill length curtains with a finish of 1.5cm (1/2") above the sill.
(2) Below the sill curtains with a finish of 15cm (6") below
(3) Floor length curtains with a finish 1.5cm (1/2") above the floor

Please see the diagram below for more information.
