I Want Fabric FAQ


Q: Can I have a free sample?

A: Of course! Making sure our customers get exactly what they want is important to us and so we are more than happy to send samples of most of our products in order to colour match or to ensure the quality/style of the fabric is just right.

To order your samples, please email us directly with your request and address on and we will send them as soon as possible- easy as that!


Q: Do you combine shipping?

A: We do combine postage costs, however, we can’t do this automatically because of how Ebay calculates invoices. If you are ordering several items, please commit to buy but do not complete checkout; this allows us to manually amend your invoice to combine shipping.
If you have already completed checkout, please let us know as soon as possible and we can refund the difference. Please note, however, if your order has already been dispatched as separate parcels, we will not be able to offer a refund on postage.


Q: Why does postage increase when I want more than one metre?

A: Shipping is calculated based on the size (and therefore weight) of your order. Royal Mail shipping has an initial fee, with an additional charge for each metre so for domestic postage by Royal Mail Tracked, postage is calculated as below:
1m = £3.65 + £0.60 for each additional metre. 3m = £4.85 (£3.65+£0.60+£0.60)
By courier, both domestically and internationally, the size of your order does not change postage costs (provided we can send this in one parcel) and so for 48 Hour Courier (domestic), you pay £8.99 whether you’re ordering 1m or 40m!

Q: Can you send my item on a roll?

A: Of course, we can send this on a roll! However, this is not the standard delivery method, as we try to keep our postage costs as low as possible for our customers. Royal Mail do not allow us to send rolls as the length of the parcel falls outside of their maximum size limits, therefore, if you would like your item to be sent rolled, please select one of the Courier options and we will make sure you receive this on a roll.


Q: How quickly do you dispatch?

A: We aim to send all of our orders either same day or next day. If there is going to be a delay in the dispatch of your order, we will let you know as soon as possible. Delivery times may vary, depending on the service you have requested.
If you’re in a rush, you can collect from us as soon as you have placed your order, or we can get this to you by 10:30am the next day (for domestic deliveries),  if your order is placed before 15:00pm. If you do need an urgent delivery, please contact us on 0161 925 0333 to discuss your needs.


Q: I only need ½ metre. What’s the minimum order?

A: Unfortunately we are only able to sell by full metres.
