|We at Hobby Components are proud to have earned our 5 Star rating, but we know how easily the detailed seller ratings can often be misunderstood. In an effort to help our customers understand how their ratings can help, or indeed hinder, our growth, we have written the following:
Item as described: We try to make all of our listings as accurate as possible. We take all images in-house so as to avoid any problems with items not being as advertised. We inspect all items before they are shipped to customers, this helps to minimise the amount of customers who receive items that are damaged.
We attempt to answer all questions within 24 hours. If you have not received a reply within 24 hours, please feel free to send your message again.
We use an automated system for adding tracking numbers for orders where a tracked service has been paid for.
This is the most misunderstood category by eBay users. dispatch time in the detailed seller ratings is not the time is takes for the item to get to you (we have no control over the postal services), it is actually the time it takes to dispatch orders. We dispatch ALL orders within 24 hours, and so the DSR should be a full 5 stars but hovers between 4.9 and 5, hence our understanding that this is the most confusing category. Please bare this in mind when leaving DSR's for us and for other eBay sellers as eBay take this information into account when deciding fee levels and discounts. Remember, if we're offered a fee discount, we pass this on directly to the customer.
Postage and Packing Charges
Postage and packing charges is another category which can cause confusion. The charge you see on a parcel when it arrives, is not the only expense in sending an item out to you. We have to purchase adequate packaging to get the item to you safely (bubble wrap, packing peanuts, jiffy bags, cardboard boxes). As a VAT registered company, we are obliged to also send out an invoice with orders, which means the additional cost of paper, ink etc. There is also the cost of the labels on the package itself. All of these things quickly add up. Please remember this when leaving ratings. We attempt to keep postage costs as low as we possibly can.
As stated on all invoices, we reserve the right to block any user from making any future purchases should they leave neutral or negative feedback without first allowing us ample time to resolve a problem.
