CD GRADINGS:
All CD's we list for sale are originals. We do not sell ANY copies or bootlegs!
Regarding condition of CD's: We generally do not consider anything "mint" unless it is new. The majority of what we list as "near mint" (NM) usually has no scratches, and will have no more than one or two light ones, if any. "Excellent" condition will have a few light scratches that do not affect play - guaranteed! Anything more than that would be detailed in the description, but all CDs are guaranteed to play. The jewel cases are mostly used, so they are likely to be scratched, scuffed or have small cracks due to normal wear and tear, and may or may not have stickers or remnants of price stickers on them. If they have large cracks or are broken, we will replace them at no charge before shipping.
Collectors: While the majority of ebayers are not so concerned about condition as long as the CD plays, we realize there are many of you out there who are (like us) collectors, and that the condition of an item may affect how much you will bid for it, or whether you would purchase it at all. Therefore, to the best of our ability we attempt to not only accurately grade the surface area of the disc, but to mention if the paper inserts have any cutouts, creases, indentations, stains, writing, or what have you. We can't guarantee that we will catch everything while listing so many CD's, or that our standards coincide with yours, so if you are particularly particular (lol) then please feel free to ask any questions you might have before bidding or making a purchase. We do take the time to cater to the collector & our specialized knowledge is one of the things that sets us apart from other sellers on eBay.
LP GRADINGS: In an ideal world every record would be played before it is graded. But the time involved makes it impractical for most dealers (that includes us), and anyway it’s rare you get a chance to hear a record before you buy through the mail. Unless otherwise noted our records are visually graded. We look at everything about a record under a strong light. Then based on our overall impression give it a grade based on the following criteria:
- SS Still Sealed - in factory-fresh condition
- M Mint - I don't use this grade.
- NM or M- Mint Minus - a near perfect, probably unplayed record
- VG+ Very Good Plus close to like new with only superficial signs of use that dont affect play. Only well cared for records will grade out to VG+. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector.
|
- VG Very Good - a used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
- VG- Very Good Minus - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise.
- G+ Good Plus. In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records.

Other Considerations: Most dealers give a separate grade (that includes us) to the record and its sleeve or cover. In an ad, a records grade is listed first, followed by that of the sleeve or jacket. With Still Sealed (SS) records, let the buyer beware, unless it's a U.S. pressing from the last 10-15 years or so. It's too easy to reseal one. Yes, some legitimately never-opened LP's from the 1960's still exist. But if you're looking for a specific pressing, the only way you can know of sure is to open the record. Also, European imports are not factory-sealed, so if you see them advertised as sealed, someone other than the manufacturer sealed them.
