Finding Books in My Store
I use the standard eBay Store Search method to find books. I
first note that you can select which type of listing to view (All Books,
Auction Only or Buy-It-Now Only) – see the top right of the Store Home Screen.
You can also sort the listings by Time Listed (ending soonest or newly listed)
or Price (lowest first, or highest first).
There are three basic ways to find a book.
- Browse all books. The listings
will normally appear by listing date for all types of listings. You can reset
this as described above. At the bottom of the screen are links to go back
and forth through the pages or you can enter a particular page number to
quickly find a listing. Putting in the highest
page number will get you to the newest listings, for example, if the
listings are sorted by Newly Listed.
- Browse by category. On the left of
the Store home screen are my book categories. Click the category of
interest and only those books in the selected category will be displayed.
You can then browse as above or use a keyword search as described below.
- Search by Keyword – On the left of
the Store home screen, there is a Search button. Above it is a window for
entering one or more keywords. These keywords define the search criteria.
You have the option to search titles only or titles and description. Check
the box under the keyword window if you want to search both titles and
descriptions. Note that if you first select a category and then a keyword,
only books in the selected category that match the keyword will be
displayed. However, if there are other categories that have matching
books, that will be indicated in the category section of the screen by a
number in the parenthesis following the category name.
For example, suppose you are
interested in books on bicycles. You select the Sports, Recreation category and
enter “bicycle” as your Search keyword. When I did that, 7applicable listings
were displayed. In the left hand category column, there were several category
entries. One such entry was Science, Math, Technology (1) indicating that there
was one book on bicycles that was listed in this category.
