The
KARAOKE Industry - Changes
You may or may not know
that many karaoke discs include music and lyrics that are not licensed for use.
This has resulted in considerable litigation during the past few years.
That’s why:
- Panorama, North Star,
Music Maestro,
Legends and Country Classics (among other Karaoke lines) are no longer
produced.
- SOUND CHOICE recalled
many of their discs
- Many discs are now
being issued or re-issued WITHOUT On-Screen Lyrics.
When discs are released
without on-screen lyrics, we do our best to customize the ebay listing in
order to avoid confusion.
The most significant
recent development is that the rights holders are going after deep pockets – the
distributors. This will have an enormous affect on the entire industry. It will
probably eliminate all of the ‘cheap’ karaoke lines.
Here at HIP 2 KARAOKE we
are trying to get verification as to which karaoke disc lines are fully licensed
– and which may violate the rights of the lyric and music holders. We do our
best to eliminate unlicensed lines from our eBay listings.
