Grayshott Pottery was established in 1956. Its origins can, however, be traced back to the Compton Pottery built near Guildford at the turn of the century by Mary Watts, wife of the famous Victorian painter, Frederick Watts. Grayshott has built an international reputation producing fine stoneware and porcelain shapes and designs.
Having established a reputation for quality and innovative designs, we are expanding into new markets. We are using top designers to produce reduction stoneware in the ancient Chinese tradition, each piece being hand-painted and signed by our skilled potters. Grayshott pottery is one of the first in England to perfect these techniques in a true production environment.
In 2006, Dartington Pottery production was moved to Grayshott, providing the perfect complement to Grayshott's more traditional designs. |
