About This Chart
1.) This chart is meant to be only an
approximation of sizes converted into the measuring standards of
different regions. It is not exact, and some sizes cannot be translated
into different sizing systems.
2.) The circumference and diameter measurements are not exact and are
meant to be approximations.
When Finding a Ring
1.) Take into consideration that many jewelers
differ in their methods of determining size of a ring even while using
the same measurement system. One jeweler may conclude a ring is a size
10, whereas another may derive it as a size 10 1/4.
2.) Remember that your ring size for a certain finger may vary daily or
completely change over time. Time of day, environmental and atmospheric
conditions, frequency of the use of your hands, and even diet may cause
one's ring size to vary significantly. Ring size also may change as you
experience the normal bodily changes which occur in aging.
3.) Pay attention to which hand you are
shopping for. Your dominant hand will accommodate rings with larger
sizes than your off hand.
4.) The perfect ring size will fit securely
around your finger without constricting it. It will not be easy to slide
off your knuckle, but will allow enough room for the ring to be jiggled
off with the use of your other hand. |
