Uses:  Salmon, sea trout and steelhead flies. Tube, Needle Tube and Micro Tube flies dressed either traditional, Frodin, Shumakov, or templedog style such as Mikkeli Blue, Willy Gun or Greenlander, with up to an 80mm wing or tail length. Any larger hairwing pattern on tubes or hooks that require a longer wing such as the Dee Sheep. First class fox tail, long and very mobile. Ideal for Scandinavian styles of fly dressing.

Product: Arctic Shadow Fox.

Uses:  Salmon sea trout and steelhead flies. Tube, Needle Tube and Micro Tube flies in all patterns, using singles doubles or trebles all requiring a maximum wing or tail length of 60mm. Smaller tubes that require a longer wing. Relatively soft with a fantastic sheen. Very good winging material.

Product: Arctic Blue Fox.

Uses:  As per marble and shadow but with maximum wing length of 50mm. Ideal for Needle Tube and Micro Tube flies, low water doubles and trebles especially in smaller sizes #8 to #14.

Note, A bonus of all three fox tails is the under fur. Save it as it makes very good dubbing for trout and sea trout flies, either on its own or mixed with either natural or synthetic fibres.

Product: Raccoon Dog.

Uses:  As per Fox. But as it is quite long and has a natural curve to it, it makes it ideal not only as a hair dressed on its own but as an over-wing to arctic fox thus giving a longer and more curved profile, superb on Paddy Bonner's patterns - Black Green Highlander and Blue Elver. A great hair with a good mobility. Ideal for Scandinavian style of fly dressing. This fur is also available as zonker strips for tying predator flies for Pike and saltwater species.

Type of Fly fishing: Sinking and floating line techniques for salmon, sea trout and steelhead, as well as predator species in salt and fresh water.

Uses: A shortish fine very mobile hair suited to salmon, sea trout and trout flies such as Black Prince, Stewart's Shrimp, Goat's Toe, Skunk, and Coachman as winging and dubbed body material. However there is a case for using this fur for Needle Tube and Micro Tube flies suh as Curry's Red, Foxford, Faughan, Bann Special, Erie and Claret Shrimp. Used as a zonker strip it builds excellent zonker and matuka patterns as well as tails for the likes of Damsel Nymph and Tadpole flies. Very mobile in the water.

Product: Cashmere Goat.

Hair length 13cms( average)

Uses:  At last a perfect match for Caucasian silver goat. Perfect for Shumakov or Frodin tube patterns and any fly that you want to have translucency and mobility. A hair that is much more mobile than polar bear, and just as translucent. Will make great Collie Dogs and Sunray Shadows. Also good for Saltwater flies, it is mobile and stays lively in salt water. 

Type of Fly fishing: Ideally suited to Salmon fly fishing with either sinking or floating line, but has great potential for the predator fly angler, a bunch of this hair with a little sparkle added makes killer Bunny Leach or Eel flies.

Product: Boar Bristles on Skin .

Uses: Perfect for Pot-bellied Pigs and Francis and any other shrimp or prawn pattern requiring feelers. Another use for the bristle is as an addition to the long tail of some of the modern dressings such as Cascade. There is a bonus with this material and that is the wool at the base of the bristle. This can be used as traditional body material in any fly pattern that required dubbing.

Type of Fly fishing Salmon fly fishing with sunk and floating line. Could also be used on some of the more adventurous sea trout patterns.

Product: Mink tails

Hair length 5mm ( average)

Uses: A shorter finer hair ideally suited to the smaller salmon fly #8 - #14 and tubes 10mm - 25mm. Makes a very neat wing ideal for Dee and Spey low water flies, due to its length and texture. Mink tail is also very suitable for sea trout flies such as hair wing Watsons fancy, Stuarts Killer, Black Red and Silver. While sometimes overlooked, the underfur and guard hair is terrific for use as dubbing, a really spiky mix is possible, which once dubbed adds amazing "life" to any fly.
